KP858 - ASAP Part-Time Housekeeper - Upper East Side

Overview

A warm, private family on the Upper East Side are seeking an exceptional, detail-oriented, and highly organized part-time housekeeper to maintain a family residence. The schedule will be 9:00 AM–3:00 PM (30 hours) Monday through Friday, and the family is looking to hire someone as soon as possible. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a beautifully organized home, has excellent ironing and laundry skills, and is comfortable working around children and caring for family pets.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the overall cleanliness, organization, and upkeep of the residence.
• Perform routine cleaning, including dusting, surface cleaning, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping throughout the home.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, including sanitizing countertops, cleaning appliance exteriors, managing dishes, and deep cleaning the interiors of appliances such as ovens, toasters, and waffle makers.
• Thoroughly clean and sanitize bathrooms, including fixtures, glass, and restocking daily supplies.
• Manage all household laundry, including adults’ and children’s clothing, washing, folding, and ironing garments as needed.
• Change and iron bed linens and maintain a high standard of presentation throughout the home.
• Keep the interiors of drawers clean, dust-free, and organized.
• Feed and walk the family dog during working hours.
• Work comfortably and respectfully around children and family pets.
• Coordinate with vendors and service providers for occasional household repairs.
• Vacuum and tidy a separate office space once per week.
• Assist with occasional household errands and other light domestic tasks as needed.
• Undertake periodic deep cleaning and additional household organization projects as mutually agreed upon.

Please note: Cooking is not required for this position.

 

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a professional housekeeper in a private residence.
• Exceptional organizational skills and a natural eye for detail.
• Strong laundry, garment-care, and ironing skills.
• Experience with deep cleaning and maintaining high standards of household cleanliness.
• Comfortable caring for dogs and working in a home with children.
• Proactive, reliable, discreet, and able to work independently.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.

Requirements

• Able to manage all household laundry, including children’s clothing.
• Comfortable with both daily housekeeping and detailed organizational projects.
• Willing to assist with occasional vendor coordination and light household errands.
• Professional references and relevant private-household experience preferred.
• Must be comfortable with on-the-books employment.

Salary and Benefits

• $50 per hour + industry standard benefits (prorated)
