This is an opportunity to join the Hong Kong funds and private equity practice of an elite global law firm with a formidable transactional reputation across Asia. The team acts for private equity houses, funds and PRC-based investors on high-stakes cross-border deals, and the partners are known for backing their senior lawyers to lead. You will sit at the heart of a busy, market-leading practice with a genuine flow of sophisticated work.

WHAT

Your practice will span private M&A and private equity transactions end to end: acquisitions and disposals, buyouts, growth and pre-IPO investments, joint ventures and exits, frequently cross-border in nature and often involving clients active in the PRC and Southeast Asian markets. As a senior member of the team you will take a leading role in running deals, negotiating the principal documents, supervising junior colleagues and managing client relationships, with partner access and real responsibility from day one.

YOU

You must be admitted in Hong Kong, with seven to ten years' post-qualification experience and substantial private M&A and PE experience gained at a leading international or top-tier regional firm. The firm has a marked preference for a senior associate appointment, though a candidate with a portable following could be considered at a more senior level. Fluency in Mandarin alongside English is a distinct advantage given the client base. You will be commercial, hands-on and comfortable owning deals, with the drafting and negotiation credentials to match.
