Job Description

Control Execution and Governance

  • Support the Head of AFC Control Operations in implementing the AFC control agenda, operating standards, governance routines, and escalation requirements.
  • Coordinate day-to-day control activities across AFC Operations and ensure that agreed controls are completed accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Monitor key control indicators covering timeliness, quality, outstanding cases, capacity, recurring errors, and emerging operational risks.
  • Maintain control procedures, working instructions, trackers, and supporting records to ensure consistent execution and a clear audit trail.
  • Identify material changes in policies, processes, systems, or volumes that may affect control effectiveness or operational capacity, and escalate the potential impact.
  • Prepare regular control updates and highlight matters requiring attention or decisions from the Head of AFC Control Operations.

Post-Execution Quality Control

  • Perform risk-based Quality Control reviews of Source of Wealth assessments before alert closure or submission to BRCM Quality Assurance or Compliance Assurance.
  • Randomly select completed cases based on the approved sampling methodology, with additional focus on higher-risk cases, material exposures, and other defined selection criteria.
  • Review whether Source of Wealth assessments are complete, accurate, supported by appropriate evidence, and conducted in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and assessment standards.
  • Provide clear and timely feedback to the responsible AFC Operations employee and ensure that identified errors or gaps are corrected before the case is closed or submitted for further assurance review.
  • Record QC results, error classifications, corrective actions, recurring issues, and completion status to maintain a complete and traceable review record.
  • Analyze QC outcomes to identify common errors, knowledge gaps, and process weaknesses, and recommend targeted coaching, procedural clarification, or control enhancements.

Review Coordination and Quality Management

  • Coordinate operational support for Compliance Assurance, OCM, Internal Audit, and other internal or external reviews affecting AFC Operations.
  • Clarify review requirements and coordinate the timely submission of samples, supporting documents, process explanations, and other requested information.
  • Perform an initial quality review of submissions to ensure that information is complete, accurate, consistent, and responsive to the review request.
  • Maintain structured deliverable trackers and document repositories, ensuring clear ownership, version control, submission status, and audit trails.
  • Support the assessment of draft observations, coordinate evidence-based responses, and escalate significant findings or delivery risks to the Head of AFC Control Operations.
  • Track agreed corrective actions and confirm that supporting evidence is available before actions are submitted for validation or closure.

Risk Identification and Remediation

  • Monitor operational activities, incidents, QC results, assurance findings, and management information to identify emerging risks, recurring errors, and control weaknesses.
  • Conduct diagnostic reviews and root-cause analysis to determine the underlying causes and potential impact of identified issues.
  • Support the documentation and escalation of material risks through the appropriate governance process, including clear impact assessments, owners, actions, and target dates.
  • Coordinate remediation activities with accountable stakeholders and monitor progress against agreed timelines.
  • Validate that corrective actions have been implemented and appropriately address the identified control weakness before recommending closure.
  • Escalate overdue actions, repeated control failures, or unresolved risk exposures to the Head of AFC Control Operations.

Data, Reporting, and Control Enhancement

  • Prepare dashboards and management information covering QC results, control performance, review status, recurring issues, remediation progress, and emerging risks.
  • Analyze operational and control data to identify trends, exceptions, concentration risks, and areas requiring management attention.
  • Support the development of data analytics, automation, and smart-control solutions to improve monitoring and reduce repetitive manual activities.
  • Work with AFC Operations, Technology, Data Analytics, Compliance, and other stakeholders to define business and control requirements for process enhancements.
  • Support implementation testing and post-implementation monitoring to confirm that new or enhanced controls operate as intended.
  • Recommend opportunities to simplify processes, improve control effectiveness, and optimize resources without weakening regulatory or control requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Risk Management, Compliance, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline. Relevant AML, compliance, audit, or risk certification is advantageous.
  • Relevant experience in AML or AFC Operations, Source of Wealth assessment, quality control, quality assurance, business risk and control management, compliance assurance, or audit within financial services.
  • Strong practical knowledge of CDD/KYC, Source of Wealth, ongoing customer reviews, high-risk customer controls, name screening, sanctions, and related AFC processes.
  • Strong analytical, quality-review, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify material errors, determine root causes, provide constructive feedback, and recommend practical corrective actions.
  • Effective stakeholder management, communication, and team-coordination skills, with the ability to manage priorities, support operational employees, and escalate material risks clearly.
