Description
- Answers citizen inquiries regarding the status of requests submitted under the Texas Public Information Act (TPIA) and subpoenas; directs inquiries to the appropriate staff member when necessary
- Receives, enters, and routes requests submitted under the TPIA and subpoenas
- Administers the intake and tracking system for TPIA requests and subpoenas
- Completes various tasks using Microsoft Office programs and specialized business platforms
- Monitors the designated TPIA email inbox for receiving requests
- Serves as the primary backup for purchasing card (P-Card) reconciliation and payroll processing
- Works independently or with limited guidance to complete assigned tasks
- Perform duties as assigned by the City Attorney and the Public Information Act Coordinator
Physical and Environmental Conditions
Ability to sit, stand, lift 20 lbs. at a time, and navigate an office environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
Ability to read and understand manuals and updates regarding City and departmental policies and procedures. Skill in the operation of computers, copiers, printers and fax machines. Proficiency in typing, and completing spreadsheets, forms or word processing assignments. Capable of easily acquiring and applying knowledge to learn and understand payroll and purchasing software, and specialized business platforms. Communicates effectively both orally and in writing to citizens and other departments.
Minimum Education, Experience and Certification
High school diploma or equivalent plus three to five years’ experience working in office administration. Experience with Microsoft Office required. Valid Texas driver’s license required.
Work Hours
Monday through Friday; 8:00 am until 5:00 pm.
