THE JOB:
As a Line Cook, you are responsible for preparing and cooking high-quality menu items while maintaining the standards of the kitchen and culinary team. You will work closely with fellow cooks, Chefs de Partie, Sous Chefs, and culinary leadership to ensure food is prepared safely, efficiently, and consistently according to recipes, presentation standards, and service expectations.
- Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to established recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
- Set up and maintain assigned workstations with all necessary ingredients, equipment, and supplies for service.
- Follow proper food preparation techniques, including cutting, chopping, grilling, sautéing, frying, baking, and other cooking methods as assigned.
- Ensure food is prepared and served in a timely manner while maintaining quality and consistency during service.
- Communicate effectively with other kitchen stations and culinary leadership to support smooth and efficient kitchen operations.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene, and organization throughout the kitchen and assigned workstation.
- Monitor food products and supplies and communicate low-stock items or product needs to culinary leadership.
- Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food-handling standards in accordance with company policies and applicable regulations.
- Properly label, date, rotate, handle, and store food products to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage or contamination.
- Minimize food waste by following proper preparation, portioning, storage, and handling procedures.
- Assist with receiving, stocking, organizing, and rotating food products and kitchen supplies as needed.
- Complete opening, closing, cleaning, and side-work responsibilities as assigned.
- Assist other kitchen stations and culinary team members as operational needs require.
- Perform other related culinary duties as assigned to support daily kitchen and restaurant operations.
