Position Summary:
Your Impact
- Assist with routine bookkeeping and accounting support activities for assigned client entities under the direction and review of experienced team members.
- Assist with bank and credit card reconciliations, identify discrepancies, and escalate questions for review.
- Support assigned components of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and other routine bookkeeping processes by following established procedures.
- Help maintain accurate financial records and organize client documentation.
- Assist with preparing basic schedules, workpapers, and supporting documentation used in monthly, quarterly, and annual client reporting.
- Gather and organize information requested by the engagement team to support tax returns, 1099 filings, and other client compliance activities.
- Apply foundational accounting concepts to assigned work while building knowledge of cash-basis, accrual-basis, and GAAP accounting methods.
- Complete assigned work under appropriate supervision and incorporate review notes and feedback into future assignments.
- Communicate clearly with team members regarding questions, missing information, and assignment status.
- Participate in client service projects, team meetings, training sessions, and other learning opportunities.
- Contribute to team projects and support colleagues in meeting engagement deadlines.
- Meet agreed-upon expectations for work quality, timeliness, learning, and internship participation.
- Perform other related duties and demonstrate flexibility in supporting the needs of the team.
Your Background
- Required: Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of accounting principles, including debits, credits, and financial statements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when working with financial data and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and willingness to learn accounting software and related technologies.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions, ask questions, and seek feedback to improve performance.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a team-oriented environment.
- Availability to work part-time or full-time during the internship term, with flexibility during peak deadlines.
