Field Services Technician I
- Employment Type: Full-Time
- FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
- Department: Managed Services (MSP)
- Work Location: Onsite in Fulton, Maryland, with travel to client sites and after-hours on-call, night, and weekend work as needed
Position Summary
The Field Services Technician I provides proactive onsite and remote technical support for DAS Health clients, serving as a front-line resource for resolving foundational technology issues and maintaining accurate service records. This role helps keep client systems running smoothly by troubleshooting user, endpoint, network, server, cloud, and Microsoft 365 issues while supporting reliable, responsive service delivery.Key Responsibilities
- Manage assigned service tickets through resolution, meet service-level expectations, and escalate issues when additional support is needed.
- Keep clients informed of service request developments and communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users.
- Install, configure, troubleshoot, and provide foundational support for client networks, Windows servers, cloud environments, operating systems, applications, endpoints, and managed services tools.
- Maintain accurate ticket, asset, configuration, and knowledge documentation, including updates in IT Glue.
- Follow change management, maintenance, configuration management, and system upgrade procedures.
- Support client onboarding, technology implementations, third-party vendors, and vendor applications.
- Travel to client sites to complete assessments, inventories, discovery, installations, and endpoint delivery and setup.
- Monitor and troubleshoot backup and maintenance tickets, identify recurring issues, and help improve systems and processes to restore service quickly.
- Assist the Service Desk with call queues and service tickets as needed.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- One to three years of experience in field services or IT support.
- Basic knowledge of networking concepts and client technologies, including firewalls, routers, switches, and Wi-Fi.
- Basic proficiency with Windows Server and cloud-based server environments such as Azure, AWS, and Windows Virtual Desktop.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 email and Office applications.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, macOS, and Linux.
- Effective troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical information to non-technical users.
- Excellent attention to detail, organization, time management, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work independently with general guidance and contribute proactively as part of a team.
- Ability to travel to client sites and work after hours, nights, or weekends as needed.
- Ability to learn quickly during a one- to two-week training period.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field.
- CompTIA A+ certification.
- CompTIA Network+ certification.
