The Electronically Protected Radar SME will serve as the technical authority and subject matter expert for electronically protected radar capabilities on advanced combat platforms. This role leads system architecture, technical trades, and multi‑disciplinary engineering teams to develop, integrate, and verify advanced radar EP solutions for highly contested electromagnetic environments.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as electronically protected radar SME, providing system‑level technical leadership across programs and platforms.
- Lead architecture and requirements development for EP radar capabilities (anti‑jam, interference mitigation, spectrum resiliency).
- Plan and execute trade studies, modeling, simulation, and system analyses to optimize radar performance, cost, schedule, and risk.
- Define and oversee EP radar performance metrics, verification, and validation strategies, including lab, SIL/HIL, and flight test.
- Provide technical direction and mentorship to systems, RF, digital, software, and algorithm engineers.
- Collaborate with program leadership, technical leadership, and customers to shape radar technology roadmaps and EP insertion strategies.
- Support modernization and new business efforts, including technical concepts, proposal inputs, and customer briefings/demonstrations.
- Develop and maintain interface definitions and integration strategies between radar EP functions and mission systems.
- Review and approve technical documentation (requirements, ICDs, designs, analyses, test plans/procedures, and technical review packages).
- Identify, track, and mitigate EP radar technical risks and opportunities.
- Maintain awareness of radar/EW threat trends, CONOPS, and technologies and incorporate lessons learned into radar designs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree with 16 years of experience, a master’s degree with 14 years of experience, or a PhD with 12 years of experience in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics or related technical fields; an additional 4 years may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- U.S Citizenship is required.
- A current/active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
- Ability to obtain Special Program Access (SAP)
- Experience in radar systems engineering for DoD combat aircraft or similar platforms.
- Experience in electronically protected radar, electronic warfare, or related RF / radar domains across design, integration, and test.
- Experience in Anti‑jam radar techniques and resilient radar operation in contested EM environments, Interference detection, avoidance, and mitigation for radar systems, Adaptive beamforming, spatial filtering, and/or null steering in radar arrays.
- Experience in Radar EP‑related signal processing and algorithms
- Experience with modeling and simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB) for radar and EP analysis.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Top Secret clearance.
- Hands‑on experience with EP radar implementation and test, including:
- HIL/SIL environments
- Anechoic chamber, range, or flight testing for EP radar performance
- Integration of EP radar features into operational aircraft
- Experience with threat modeling, mission analysis, and CONOPS for operations in highly contested EM environments.
- Knowledge of relevant military standards and specifications for radar, EW, and RF systems.
- Experience supporting capture and proposal activities focused on radar EP capabilities.
- Record of technical leadership, publications, or patents in electronically protected radar or related EW disciplines.
