The Role
Ready to take your legal career in-house? This is a rare opportunity for a mid-level lawyer to join a high-performing legal team supporting iconic Australian brands. You’ll work across a broad mix of commercial, consumer, intellectual property and marketing matters, receiving mentorship from experienced in-house counsel while partnering directly with the business. With genuine variety, strong support and development opportunities, this 12-month fixed-term role offers an outstanding platform to accelerate your legal career and build valuable commercial experience within a leading FMCG organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide practical legal advice on commercial agreements, intellectual property, consumer law and regulatory matters across the Bega Group Beverages and Water Ice portfolios.
- Draft, review and negotiate contracts, identifying risks and partner with stakeholders to achieve commercially sound outcomes.
- Review product artwork, marketing campaigns, PR materials and social media content to ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
- Support trademark portfolio management and brand protection activities in collaboration with external legal providers.
- Deliver legal training, improve legal processes and build strong relationships across the business to proactively manage risk.
About you
- Qualified lawyer in Australia with a Bachelor of Laws or Juris Doctor and holds a current practising certificate
- Approximately 4-6 years' post-qualification experience, with in-house legal experience viewed favourably
- Strong knowledge of Australian Consumer Law, marketing and advertising regulations, and intellectual property matters
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, communication and stakeholder management skills, with a commercial and pragmatic mindset
- Self-motivated team player who can manage competing priorities while building trusted relationships across the organisation
