Job Summary
Rady Children’s Health’s mission to build an inclusive, future-ready healthcare workforce and strengthen community connections. This strategic role leads program development, partnership cultivation, and cross-functional collaboration for the Healthcare Career Academy (HCA), the umbrella for student-focused future workforce development programs, and Choco’s Community Action Team (CCAT), the organization’s employee volunteer program.The Program Strategist develops innovative future workforce and community engagement initiatives that expand access to healthcare career pathways, experiential learning, mentorship, and meaningful volunteer opportunities. This role builds and sustains relationships with schools, educational institutions, community organizations, healthcare partners, and internal stakeholders to strengthen talent pipelines and create opportunities for students, employees, and community partners to engage with Rady Children’s Health.
This role evaluates program effectiveness, uses data and stakeholder feedback to drive continuous improvement, identifies opportunities for growth and innovation, and communicates program impact and recommendations to leadership. As a champion of belonging, diversity, equity, and inclusion, the Program Strategist integrates these principles into program design, partnerships, outreach, and engagement strategies.
Working closely with the Director and organizational leaders, the Program Strategist provides strategic direction and supports effective program execution while maintaining a focus on long-term growth, innovation, sustainable partnerships, and measurable organizational and community impact.
Pay Range
Minimum $64,355 Midpoint $85,259 Maximum $106,184Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
• Required: Minimum three (3) years of experience in program management, volunteer coordination, or workforce development. Background in healthcare, nonprofit, or education settings.
• Preferred: Experience working with students, youth, individuals with disabilities, or underserved communities
Education
• Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
• Preferred: Master’s Degree
Specialized Skills
• Required: Demonstrated expertise in coordinating complex, multi-faceted initiatives and effectively managing diverse internal and external contributors. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Database entry and technical skills. Passion for student opportunity, development, and mentoring.
• Preferred: Bilingual (Spanish or another language spoken in the communities we serve). Recruitment and networking experience preferred.
