Job Description Summary
The Senior Project Engineering Manager serves a critical technical leadership role within GE Vernova, responsible for the end-to-end management of engineering activities for enterprise-level, multi-technology energy projects. You will serve as the primary technical liaison, bridging the gap between Business Units, Consulting Services, and external partners to ensure technical scopes are delivered to specification, budget, and schedule. Roles and Responsibilities
- Engineering Leadership: Coordinate and provide project management oversight for all engineering activities across enterprise-level projects. Ensure alignment between Consulting Services and Business Units to meet stringent technical and contractual specifications.
- Deliverables Management: Direct the timely completion of critical engineering documentation, including system studies, PFDs, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, control system architecture, datasheets, and interface control documents.
- Cross-Business Interface Management: Manage complex technical interfaces between various product lines, business units, and EPC partners to ensure seamless system compatibility and adherence to project commitments.
- Issue Resolution: Provide rapid resolution and escalation for technical interface challenges encountered during design, installation, and commissioning, engaging global engineering resources as required.
- Execution Planning: Develop and maintain comprehensive engineering execution plans, including resource allocation, schedule tracking, and risk mitigation across multiple disciplines and geographies.
- Commissioning Strategy: Collaborate with the Planning Manager for Integrated Projects to develop and maintain Level 1 and Level 2 commissioning execution plans, schedules, and readiness checklists.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify and mitigate technical interface risks. Ensure all designs strictly adhere to global codes, regulatory requirements, and grid interconnection standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NERC, NEC).
- Continuous Improvement: Drive the standardization of cross-business engineering processes, templates, and analytical tools to enhance quality, efficiency, and enterprise-wide knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Power Systems Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in the power generation or energy sector, with exposure to enterprise-level or multi-business projects.
- Proven track record in cross-functional collaboration and integrated system design.
- Strong understanding of power generation technologies, energy storage systems, and grid interconnection requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multi-discipline teams in global, matrixed organizations
- Demonstrated experience in Balance of Plant (BOP) systems, thermal cycle performance, power transformers.
- Working knowledge of medium- and high-voltage switchgear design, protection, and operation.
- Familiarity with grid codes, utility interconnection requirements, and applicable standards (IEEE, IEC, ANSI, NERC, NEC).
- Ability to translate system-level protection requirements into practical, buildable designs.

For candidates applying to a U.S. based position, the pay range for this position is between $132,200.00 and $220,400.00. The Company pays a geographic differential of 110%, 120% or 130% of salary in certain areas. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set.
Bonus eligibility: discretionary annual bonus.
