Guidance Counselor

Assist with the efficient and effective application of all policies and procedures related to student guidance and counseling in the school.: • Supports the development and pursuit of the school’s goals and Strategic Plan. • Assists the Head of Guidance and Counseling in the general management of the Department. • Fosters parental and community involvement in the educational program of the School. • Participates actively in the School’s co-curricular activities and attends official School functions when requested by the Head of Department. • Supports coordinator in the preparation, management and monitoring of standards and procedures. • Suggests to the coordinator, policies and procedures as required to facilitate effective provision of guidance and counseling services. • Periodically evaluates policies and procedures and suggests to Principal and Vice Principals amendments where and when necessary. • Consistently implements school policies, rules and regulations. • Establishes and promotes high standards and expectations for all students and staff for academic performance and responsibility for behavior. Support the head of guidance and counseling in the development and running of the school counseling services: • Facilitate academic, social, moral and physical counseling and guidance as required. • Provide support and liaison as required in the implementation of the School’s curriculum. • Consult with and advise teachers and parents on individual students. • Attend and follow-up relevant meetings on a regular basis as required. Assist BINUS School students with their academic, vocational, career, and personal development and well-being: • Initiates and facilitates workshops and seminars in line with the programs of the department. • Conducts interviews and sessions, monitors and gives feedback of students who seek advice or who may be considered “at risk”. • Participates in the School’s student random drug-testing program. • Listens and responds to students’ parent enquiries and complaints on matters related to student wellbeing. • Arranges activities, including networking with educational representatives or agencies to expose the students to global educational trends. • Counsels students seeking university opportunities. • Facilitates career orientation workshops for the student grades 10-12. • Establishes effective liaison with the various offices and agencies that may provide specialized or professional help to students and their parents. Provide support and guidance to BINUS school subject teachers and other member of staff in order to assist them to perform their professional duties, including the provision of general counseling.: • Provide counseling and guidance for the staff as and when required. • Cooperate actively in the development of cohesion among students, staff and community. • Act effectively and efficiently upon student and staff-based issues when raised by staff, students or parents. • Support staff in their duties by following-up all referred cases and providing on-going monitoring to resolution. • Conduct meetings aimed at improving student welfare, achievement. Guidance & counseling operational activity: • Assists in the planning, implementation and evaluation of guidance and counseling programs. • Monitors assigned student division and provide advice and counseling as required. • Monitors students in assigned division that may be considered academically, socially, emotionally “at risk”. • Provides relevant school-based advice and assistance to members of the School’s community as required. • Provides referral to external agencies as necessary. • Ensures the secure and confidential storage of student records. Protects confidentiality of information gained as part of exercising professional duties and use discretion in sharing such information within legal confines. • Represents the school in professional meetings, when requested. • Monitors sustainability of GC programs. Education Requirement: • Minimum holder Bachelor ‘s Degree (S1) Work Exposure/ Experience: • Minimum 2 years working experience
