Description
Key Areas of Responsibilities
- Implement, monitor, and support enterprise backup solutions using Veeam and EMC Networker to ensure data protection.
- Perform regular backup and restore testing to validate data integrity and system availability.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive backup and disaster recovery (DR) strategies, policies, and procedures.
- Deploy, install, and configure backup software, media agents, and storage targets for optimal performance and scalability.
- Monitor backup jobs, troubleshoot failures promptly, and escalate issues as necessary; maintain logs and documentation of all backup activities.
- Conduct capacity planning by assessing storage requirements, planning for growth, and recommending enhancements to improve backup efficiency and reduce costs.
- Ensure security and compliance of backup data through encryption, access controls, and adherence to organizational policies and regulatory standards.
- Collaborate with IT teams, database administrators, and application owners to meet backup requirements and provide support during disaster recovery scenarios
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in CS/IT discipline
- Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in in backup administration, specifically with Veeam and EMC Networker
- Extensive knowledge in / Proficient in / Good command of / Experience in / Proven ability in data backup and recovery concepts, Veeam Certified Engineer, EMC Networker Certified Professional
- In-depth understanding of / Sound understanding of / Demonstrated familiarity with cloud backup solution, storage architecture, SAN/NAS,
- Strong analytical and quantitative / interpersonal / organizational / problem-solving / project management / client serving / multi-tasking] skills VEEAM, cloud backup, Networker, storage architecture, basics of multiple flavours of OS
- Able to work independently / attention to details / result-driven/ self-motivated / self-starter / proactive mindset / enthusiastic/ a team player]
- Excellent command of / fluent in both spoken and written English
- Certified as / Licensed with [ITIL,ISM,VMCE certification will be added advantage
