Some Job Responsibilities are:
- The day-to-day duties include diagnosing and preparing vehicles for repairs, performing repair work with the utmost of skill and accuracy and completing all duties in a timely manner.
- Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership
- Test-drive vehicles, and test components and systems, using diagnostic tools and special service equipment
- Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical steering, suspension, brakes, air conditioning, etc.
- Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed.
- Provide an estimate of time needed for additional repairs
- Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
- Opportunities for advancement with factory paid training!
Qualifications needed are:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2-5+ years of Service Technician experience required
- A or B level qualification including Diagnostic, Electrical and Engine Repair a preferred and a PLUS
- ASE Certification preferred and a BIG PLUS
- Technical Training preferred and a PLUS
- GM Training a PLUS
- Dexterity, requiring a steady hand, excellent hand-eye coordination
- Mechanical and troubleshooting skills and ability to operate electronic diagnostic equipment
- Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
- Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. or more with or without assistance
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work in a shop environment that is effected by frequently changing temperatures.
- Excellent customer service skills and basic computer competencies
- Positive, friendly attitude, along with an eagerness to continue to learn and keep up with certifications and training
