Job Description

  • The Vice President will be a versatile team player, display leadership qualities, and be enthusiastic in addressing new challenges. This role sits within the Group Privacy and Data Protection team and will support the delivery of BlackRock’s global privacy governance, operational risk, reporting, and technology risk agenda.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day execution, coordination, and continuous improvement of key components of the Global Privacy Program, with a focus on the Privacy Office; particularly governance operations including Data Protection Officer (DPO) support, management information, privacy committee and forums, individual rights requests, intra-group data transfer arrangements, privacy incidents. In addition, embedding privacy controls into technology development and global HR privacy risk advisory.
  • The role will involve regular interaction with Legal & Compliance, Information Security, Technology, Business, Records Governance, Procurement, Internal Audit, HR, and senior stakeholders. The candidate must be able to produce high-quality governance materials, manage operational processes, coordinate across multiple stakeholders, and support audit-ready documentation and evidence of privacy compliance.
  • Candidates must have a proven track record of delivering high-quality work in complex, time-sensitive environments and must be able to demonstrate sound judgment, strong organizational discipline, and the ability to communicate, influence, and follow through effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Global Privacy and Data Protection Officer and regional privacy leadership in implementing and maintaining the Global Privacy and Data Protection Policy, privacy framework, and related governance model.
  • Support the operation and continuous improvement of the Global Privacy Program, including governance routines, reporting cycles, annual planning activities, program deliverables, and documentation standards.
  • Manage the Privacy Office and team including coordination of the production, quality assurance, and dissemination of Privacy Management Information, key risk indicators, executive reporting, dashboards, trend analysis, and governance materials for senior management, governance committees, and risk forums.
  • Coordinate the collection, validation, analysis, and escalation of privacy metrics and management information from multiple stakeholders, ensuring reported information is accurate, consistent, supported by evidence, and suitable for management and audit review.
  • Manage end-to-end preparation for Privacy governance forums and committees, including agendas, briefing materials, presentation content, meeting minutes, decision logs, action trackers, and follow-up of overdue actions.
  • Maintain governance documentation, procedures, standards, playbooks, operational guidance, and related records in an audit-ready manner.
  • Support DPO reporting requirements to Boards and regulators and preparation of the Annual DPO Report. Conduct horizon scanning of data protection regulations.
  • Support management of individual rights requests, including access, deletion, correction, portability, restriction, objection, and related requests, advising and/or coordinating with business, technology, HR, legal, and operational stakeholders as required.
  • Monitor individual rights request volumes, service levels, response timelines, extensions, trends, recurring issues, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Support the maintenance of the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA) with the business on a regular basis using automated privacy tooling.
  • Support governance and administration of intra-group data transfer arrangements, including International Data Transfer Agreements, Standard Contractual Clauses, transfer mechanisms, inventories, onboarding of new entities, and evidence of compliance with transfer obligations.
  • Support privacy assessment and management of cyber security incidents, data disclosure events, data breaches, and potential privacy events, including triage, documentation, impact assessment, escalation, regulatory analysis, and post-incident remediation tracking.
  • Support maintenance of privacy risk registers, remediation plans, control documentation, action trackers, and evidence supporting risk mitigation activities.
  • Monitor emerging privacy risks, technology risks, AI-related privacy risks, regulatory developments, control gaps, and operational issues that may affect the privacy control environment.
  • Support privacy reviews of AI, emerging technology, recording, transcription, collaboration tools, HR technologies, workforce analytics, and other technology-enabled processing activities.
  • Lead the privacy risk advisory on global HR development activities.
  • Coordinate operational execution of privacy governance requirements relating to AI and technology risk, including tracking assessments, approvals, remediation activities, management information, and governance decisions.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory submissions, audits, examinations, assurance reviews, management updates, and senior stakeholder briefings.
  • Support implementation of corrective actions arising from audits, regulatory reviews, incidents, risk assessments, governance forums, and privacy program reviews.
  • Help drive consistent, scalable, and auditable privacy operations across the global Privacy Program.

Knowledge / Experience

  • Significant experience in privacy, data protection, compliance, operational risk, technology risk, governance, regulatory programs, or a related control function.
  • Strong understanding of global privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, GLBA, and other international privacy frameworks.
  • Experience supporting privacy governance, program management, management information, reporting, committee preparation, meeting minutes, action tracking, and audit-ready documentation.
  • Experience managing or supporting individual rights requests, privacy incidents, cyber security event assessments, intra-group data transfers, vendor privacy reviews, or technology-related privacy risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with privacy risk management frameworks, risk registers, control documentation, evidence standards, regulatory reporting, and audit or assurance processes.
  • Experience working with Legal & Compliance, Information Security, Technology, HR, Procurement, Records Governance, Internal Audit, and business stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce executive-level management information, governance papers, dashboards, trend analysis, and concise written materials for senior audiences.
  • Strong project management, stakeholder management, organizational, and follow-through skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex privacy, operational, and technology risk matters clearly and practically.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, escalate issues appropriately, and maintain attention to detail in time-sensitive situations.
  • Experience working in a highly regulated financial services environment preferred.
  • Privacy, compliance, risk, information security, or project management qualifications are desirable (e.g. IAPP CIPP/E).

The salary range for Hungary is 16400000 - 26700000 HUF

Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits.
