Atlantic Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced and results-driven Residential Lending Sales Manager to lead our mortgage sales team and drive continued growth across our residential lending portfolio.


In this role, you will oversee mortgage production, coach and develop a team of Mortgage Loan Originators, manage pipeline performance, and execute strategies that enhance member experience while achieving ambitious business goals. You'll work closely with executive leadership to strengthen our market presence, improve operational efficiency, and ensure compliance across all aspects of residential mortgage lending.

What You'll Do


Lead and Develop a High-Performing Team

  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance leadership to Mortgage Loan Originators and lending staff.
  • Establish clear expectations, sales goals, service standards, and accountability measures.
  • Conduct regular pipeline reviews, one-on-one coaching sessions, and performance discussions.
  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and retain top mortgage talent.
  • Foster a culture focused on excellence, collaboration, continuous improvement, and results. 

Drive Mortgage Growth and Business Performance

  • Oversee the mortgage sales pipeline from application through closing.
  • Monitor production metrics, conversion rates, forecasts, capacity, and funding goals.
  • Develop and execute strategic initiatives that increase loan volume, market share, and profitability.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to support business objectives.
  • Partner with underwriting, processing, and operations teams to improve efficiency and member outcomes. 

Serve as the Mortgage Subject Matter Expert

  • Maintain expertise across conventional, FHA, VA, USDA, portfolio, and secondary market lending programs.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, including Fair Lending, TRID, RESPA, HMDA, ECOA, and NCUA requirements.
  • Monitor audit, quality control, and compliance findings and implement corrective action when necessary.
  • Evaluate lending products, pricing strategies, technologies, and process improvements. 

Build Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop relationships with Realtors, builders, referral partners, and community organizations.
  • Represent Atlantic FCU within the community and mortgage industry.
  • Collaborate across departments to deepen member relationships and grow lending opportunities.

Requirements

  

What We're Looking For


Experience

  • 5 to 8 years of progressively responsible mortgage lending or related experience.
  • Demonstrated success leading mortgage sales teams and achieving production goals.
  • Experience with sales management, pipeline oversight, forecasting, and performance analytics. 

Education

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of specialized training, certifications, licensing, or relevant experience. 

Skills & Expertise

  • Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage products and underwriting guidelines.
  • Strong understanding of mortgage compliance and regulatory requirements.
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and performance management skills.
  • Experience with Loan Origination Systems (LOS), CRM platforms, reporting tools, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical, communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Active NMLS registration required.
