Mission of the Role

We are looking for a Senior Vehicle Electrical Systems Engineer to own the vehicle-level electrical architecture of our autonomous driving platform. You will define how our autonomy kit — compute, sensors, actuators, and control units — integrates electrically with the base vehicle, and set the electrical design standards. Our vehicles operate in outdoor industrial environments such as port container terminals and airport airside areas.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the vehicle-level electrical architecture: power distribution, grounding and bonding, shielding, and circuit protection
  • Define electrical interfaces between the autonomy kit and the base vehicle, and own the schematics, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, and harness drawings that govern them
  • Design onboard communication networks including topology, termination, and shielding
  • Select and qualify wire, connectors, terminals, relays, and protection devices against the temperature, vibration, and ingress requirements of outdoor deployment
  • Design safety-related circuits, including emergency-stop chains, interlocks, and fail-safe behavior
  • Lead electrical integration, bring-up, and root-cause analysis on prototype and production vehicles
  • Establish electrical inspection and test procedures
  • Support prototype builds, vehicle testing, and field deployment alongside embedded hardware, firmware, mechanical, and vehicle engineering teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in vehicle electrical systems, off-highway or industrial machinery, or robotic mobile platforms
  • Ownership of an electrical architecture from concept through vehicle integration and validation
  • Deep knowledge of power distribution, grounding and bonding, shielding, circuit protection, and electrical interface design
  • Experience producing wiring diagrams, harness specifications, and interface documentation
  • Vehicle-side troubleshooting with oscilloscope, multimeter, current probe, and CAN bus analyzer
  • Willingness to work on vehicles in the field, including travel to customer sites

Preferred Qualifications

  • Automotive, commercial vehicle, off-highway, or special-purpose vehicle platforms
  • EMC, ESD, and electrical transient requirements; environmental standards such as ISO 16750, ISO 7637, and IP ingress ratings
  • Functional safety practice — ISO 26262, ISO 13849, or IEC 61508
  • ECU and MCU-based embedded hardware
  • Experience introducing electrical design standards and review processes to a team
