POSITION SUMMARY: 

The Facility Shop Hand will participate in the general maintenance and cleaning of the buildings and equipment.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Clean shop restrooms.
2. Keep shop restrooms supplied with paper products and soaps.
3. Maintenance of the yard, including cutting the grass and other maintenance.
4. Clean buildings, machines, equipment, tools, and spills or debris as directed.
5. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

1. High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Experience in shop and/or yard maintenance preferred, but not required.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, ETC:

1. Must be dependable and on time. 
2. Must have the ability to operate a forklift.
3. Must be detail-oriented and have good communication skills.
4. Must have ability to multi-task.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Environment: Work is performed in an indoor and outdoor shop environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, noxious odors, gases, mechanical and electrical hazards, and all types of weather and temperature conditions.

Physical: Primary functions require physical ability and mobility to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time; to frequently stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, twist, grasp, and make repetitive hand movement in the performance of daily duties; to infrequently climb on ladders or stairs; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull moderate to heavy amounts of weight; to operate assigned equipment and vehicles; and to verbally communicate to exchange information. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to thirty (30) pounds. Personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel toe shoes and safety glasses, must be worn at all times while in the shop.

Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction. 

Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. 

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

1. All employees are to be indoctrinated in the QMS within sixty (60) days of hire.
