Description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a Global Real Estate Lead to join our Employee Experience team in NYC and lead our Global Real Estate team. Our Real Estate team is responsible for portfolio strategy, research, leasing, design, and fit-out across our global office spaces. The team takes a thoughtful, proactive approach to HRT's evolving business needs while carefully considering the cultural impact of its work.

As a Global Real Estate Lead, you have a deep expertise managing commercial office projects end-to-end across a global portfolio, ideally spanning across the U.S., EMEA, and APAC regions. This role demands strong attention to detail, excellent project management and problem-solving skills, a flexible and empathetic approach to leadership, and a willingness to take on complex challenges with curiosity.

The ideal candidate brings experience in commercial real estate, leasing strategy, and construction project experience across multiple regions and jurisdictions. They operate effectively in a consensus-driven decision-making environment, lead the team with a player-coach mentality, and recognize that the outcomes of their work directly shapes our culture, community, and the employee experience.

Responsibilities

  • Inspire, mentor, and elevate a global team of real estate experts
  • Foster a culture of inclusivity, performance excellence, collaboration, and strong communication across the team and business stakeholders
  • Lead market research to identify short and long-term real estate opportunities across U.S., EMEA, and APAC markets that align with business objectives and local cultural norms
  • Develop and execute leasing strategy across regions; negotiate leases, maximizing tenant concessions
  • Forecast and update project budgets, including capital and operational expenditure
  • Assess and manage a global network of brokers, architects, contractors, landlords, and other real estate partners
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to define goals, socialize ideas, and drive decisions throughout the project journey
  • Oversee the project management and design of office fit-outs from concept through occupancy and optimize layouts for employee productivity and experience. Direct the planning of structural work, critical MEP, IT, Security, and connectivity infrastructure, FF&E, permitting, etc. for every project
  • Ensure strong record tracking, including critical lease dates, space utilization and performance; handle insurance and local regulatory compliance due diligence
  • Establish and maintain consistent real estate standards and processes globally while adapting to regional market and regulatory differences
  • Travel internationally as needed to lead site selection, project delivery, and stakeholder collaboration across U.S., EMEA, and APAC offices

 Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in commercial real estate, managing a million square foot portfolio across global regions (U.S., EMEA, and APAC)
  • At least 7 years of experience leading, coaching, and uniting global teams in ambiguous and consensus driven decision making environments
  • Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills, and a history of aligning internal strategic partners
  • Strong technical skills (automations, messaging platforms, project management tools)
  • Proven track record managing complex fit-out projects end-to-end
  • Demonstrated success negotiating commercial lease terms and managing large project budgets across multiple markets
  • Deep understanding of global commercial real estate markets, ideally within the financial industry
  • Proficiency in construction and design project management
  • Experience working with senior stakeholders in fast-paced, high-accountability environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of MEP engineering, security, and networking systems
  • Ability to operate autonomously across time zones while driving consensus-driven decisions to resolution
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally

The estimated base salary range for this position is 200,000 to 300,000 USD per year (or local equivalent). The base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
