Job Description Summary
GE Vernova is seeking an experienced Industrial Leader to lead the industrialization of a new Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) manufacturing line in Saudi Arabia.This role will play a critical part in the successful launch of the new manufacturing site, with responsibility for the execution of the industrial scope from project phase through production ramp-up and operational stabilization. The position will initially focus on managing and coordinating civil works required to adapt the building for manufacturing use, overseeing the erection and commissioning of new equipment, and ensuring the new line is implemented in accordance with the approved layout and industrial requirements.
Following start-up, the Industrial Leader will assume responsibility for the ongoing industrial leadership of the new line, ensuring process readiness, manufacturing excellence, and alignment with GE Vernova standards, business objectives, and operational targets.
The ideal candidate will bring strong project management capabilities, a solid understanding of GIS product manufacturing, and the ability to work effectively across multiple functions and with external stakeholders.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Industrialization and Project Execution
- Lead the industrialization of the new GIS manufacturing line from project execution through production ramp-up.
- Coordinate and track civil works activities to ensure the building is adapted to meet manufacturing and operational requirements.
- Manage the erection, installation, and commissioning of manufacturing equipment in accordance with project scope, schedule, and technical specifications.
- Ensure the line is implemented according to the approved layout, industrial standards, and operational flow.
Manufacturing Readiness and Ramp-Up
- Support the preparation of the new line for production start-up, ensuring readiness across equipment, processes, layout, utilities, and workforce preparation.
- Drive ramp-up activities and support problem-solving during initial production to achieve target performance.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate industrial risks that may impact safety, quality, delivery, cost, or schedule.
- Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure a smooth transition from project phase to stable operations.
Industrial Leadership
- Act as the Industrial Leader for the new GIS line following start-up, ensuring long-term industrial performance and process stability.
- Define, implement, and maintain manufacturing standards, procedures, and work instructions for the line.
- Promote standardization and continuous improvement in collaboration with Engineering, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams.
- Support the development of local capabilities and knowledge transfer to ensure sustainable line ownership.
Stakeholder Management
- Manage project milestones, action plans, and deliverables related to the industrial scope of the new line.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering, contractors, vendors, production, quality, and management.
- Monitor progress, escalate issues as needed, and ensure alignment with project objectives, budget, and timing.
- Prepare and present project updates, risks, and key decisions to management.
2.5 Process Improvement and Standardization
- Support the standardization of manufacturing processes for GIS products.
- Identify opportunities to improve layout, equipment utilization, process flow, and productivity.
- Capture lessons learned and contribute to future industrial projects and process improvements.
- Promote a culture of safety, quality, accountability, and operational excellence.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in industrialization, manufacturing engineering, or production support or GIS product line.
- Proven experience in manufacturing environments
- Experience supporting production ramp-up and stabilization in a manufacturing environment.
Desired Characteristics
- Basic knowledge and understanding of GIS design principles and manufacturing processes for GIS products.
- Experience in GIS or similar high-voltage equipment or manufacturing of GE power generation equipment.
- Strong project management knowledge, principles, and tools.
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate cross-functional initiatives with key stakeholders.
