Job Description Summary
Negotiates and manages provider agreements to ensure access, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals. Analyzes contract terms, reimbursement structures, and market competitiveness. Builds relationships with providers and supports compliance with payer and regulatory requirements. Collaborates with finance and legal teams to finalize and manage contractual obligations.AVP, Network Contracting executes and shapes enterprise network contracting strategy, providing input that influences executive-level decisions with a long-term planning horizon of 2+ years. This job manages multiple teams led by Directors through Professionals, influences others to adopt new contracting practices and approaches across multiple functional areas, and may carry accountability for a subset of the network contracting function P&L.
How will you make an impact & Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Set enterprise network contracting strategy — including reimbursement philosophy, value-based contracting direction, and network access investment — in partnership with executive leadership and the Chief Network Officer.
- Lead and develop the enterprise network contracting organization, building team capability and ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality provider agreements across all market segments.
- Drive enterprise network transformation initiatives, building alignment across Finance, Legal, Clinical, and operational leadership on reimbursement model evolution and provider partnership strategy.
- Serve as the principal advisor to executive leadership on network economics, reimbursement trends, market dynamics, and provider contracting risk.
- Establish enterprise contracting intelligence practices including reimbursement benchmarking, network adequacy analytics, and cost trend forecasting that inform executive decision-making.
- Ensure governance and consistency across contracting practices, compliance standards, and financial accountability across the function.
- Track regulatory changes, market contracting trends, and value-based care developments to continuously advance the organization’s network contracting strategy.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree typical; bachelor's degree required
- 10+ years of network contracting or managed care experience with substantive people leadership across multiple teams.
- Proven track record leading enterprise network contracting functions at scale, including accountability for reimbursement strategy and network economics outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to influence executive-level strategy and drive contracting transformation across complex, multi-market environments.
- Broad expertise spanning provider reimbursement, value-based contracting, network adequacy, and financial modeling.
- Experience building network intelligence capabilities and advancing enterprise contracting governance.
- Deep familiarity with Medicare Advantage, Medicaid managed care, and commercial contracting required.
Compensation Range:
$200,801.00to
$301,200.00
The anticipated base salary range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the compensation it reasonably expects to pay for this position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, qualifications, geographic location, internal equity, and business needs.
