UW Medical Center - Montlake has an outstanding opportunity for experienced Vascular Access Registered Nurse.  This position is part time, 62.50% FTE.

WORK SCHEDULE

• Day Shifts
• 10-hour shifts
• 0900-1930

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• UWMC serves a wide variety of patient populations all of which our Vascular Access Team supports including:
  • Inpatient acute care and critical Care
  • Outpatient areas: Clinics, Limited Stay, ED, & Infusion Areas
  • Cardiology
  • Oncology including Stem Cell Transplant
  • High risk Maternal Infant Care
  • Solid organ transplant
  o Primary responsibilities include:
  • Placement of complex peripheral venous access, including ultrasound-guided PIV insertion.
  • Consultation for all CVC troubleshooting including PICC, non-tunneled CVCs, tunneled CVCs, HD catheters, port-a-caths etc.
  • Monitoring CVC insertion in acute care departments.
  • Consult with medical providers to provide patients with appropriate venous access while supporting vein preservation
  • Formal and informal vascular access teaching opportunities
  o PICC insertion training (new) is generally out of scope for this position, though may be considered on a case by case basis depending on the needs of the team at the time
  o Neonatal care
   
• REQUIREMENTS

• 2 years of recent Registered Nursing work experience in an ICU Department, Med Surg
• Excellent IV Insertion Skills
• Vascular access expertise highly preferred. PICC insertion experience preferred.
• ACLS
• BLS
• Active licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in Washington State or valid Multistate license
• Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.

Compensation, Benefits and Position Details

Pay Range Minimum:

$46.97 hourly

Pay Range Maximum:

$86.17 hourly

Other Compensation:

$5.00/hr nights $4.00/hr weekends $3.00/hr evenings $1.25/hr Nursing Certification $1.00/hr BSN Premium
