Job Description

Allied Universal® is hiring a Security Trainer. The Security Trainer is responsible for conducting training activities in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as Allied Universal standards. This Security Trainer will train CPR/First Aid/AED, Defensive Tactics (e.g., handcuffs, pepper spray, batons, Tasers, firearms), Mobility Devices (e.g., vehicles, bicycle, golf cart, Segway), Fire Safety Services (emergency plans; occupants, floor wardens and staff presentations; and evacuation drills), and other value-added services such as workplace violence/active shooter training.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work in conjunction with operational partners (Human Resource Coordinators/Branch Managers) to develop practical training programs at the client and branch level, in order to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory mandated training
  • Identify, conduct vetting, and establish relationships with local training academies in order to provide support in the form of external training opportunities
  • Communicate with stakeholders (Regional Training Manager, Field operations, Security Professionals, Supervisors, Field and Corporate Training, and Clients)
  • Deliver field training programs in accordance with local, state, and federal laws and regulations, as well as Allied Universal standards
  • Conduct CPR/First Aid/Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training
  • Conduct Defensive Tactics (e.g., handcuffs, pepper spray, batons, Tasers, firearms) training
  • Conduct Mobility Devices (e.g., vehicles, bicycle, golf cart, Segway) training
  • Conduct field training for Security Professionals and Supervisors
  • Deliver Fire/Life Safety Services (e.g., emergency plans; occupants, floor wardens, and staff presentations; and evacuation drills), and other value-added services such as workplace violence/active shooter training
  • Conduct leadership training such as Supervisor Essentials and White Glove Customer Service to Security Professionals and Supervisors
  • Conduct special projects on an as-needed basis to support the region

 

Account QUALIFICATIONS:

 

 

The following are the pre-employment qualification requirements for the Training Manager position:• Education: Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice or a related field of study. Related fields will be reviewed and determined on a case-by-case basis by the Contract Administrator.• Instructor Experience: Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a full-time instructor teaching subject matter related to firearms instruction.• Law Enforcement/Military Background: Must provide proof of one of the following:o Completion of a Law Enforcement Academy; oro DD Form 214 – Member Copy 4 or Member Copy 3 accepted.• Must demonstrate competency and maintain required certifications in the following areas: o Security Screening Equipment: Certified in the operation of handheld magnetometers, walk-through magnetometers, and X-ray machines to identify and stop prohibited items from entering Judiciary facilities. o Law: Knowledge of Constitutional Law, State Law, Search and Seizure, Evidence, and Arrest. o Command Presence and Crowd Management: Recognition and understanding of command presence, working in large crowds, and the ability to provide direction to crowds. o Emergency Medical Response: Certification in First Responder First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Stop The Bleed Training. o Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA): Knowledge of the ADA and the proper handling of service animal issues related to entry into Judiciary facilities. o Fire and Life Safety: Knowledge of fire detection, suppression, life safety, and evacuation. o Defensive Tactics: Appropriate knowledge and understanding to apply acceptable defensive tactics, including Avoid, Deny, and Defend principles and Run (evacuation), Hide (cover and concealment), and Fight principles.• Able to provide training and certification using PATH (Practical and Tactical Handcuffing) and MOAB (De-escalation training)• Responsible for maintaining and routinely reviewing all armed personnel records, including required training, certifications, licenses, and supporting documentation, to ensure records remain current and the contract maintains 100% compliance.• Must be able to travel (Continental and Interisland)

QUALIFICATIONS:
    • CPR/First Aid/AED Certified Instructor
    • Instructor certifications in supplement training areas as required by local office (i.e., OC Spray, Baton Techniques, Handcuffing, Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), Defensive Tactics, Taser certification, Practical Driver Training Courses, or any other client-specific training as required)
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or be able to pass a state licensing test if driving a company-owned or client-provided vehicle
  • Minimum of two (2) years of classroom instructor experience
  • Ability to work independently with little to no direct supervision
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills; ability to successfully interact at all levels of the organization, including with clients
  • Ability to write manuals, review, and respond to written requests for proposals, training documents, and prepare extensive presentations is required
  • Highly proficient and fully functional in Microsoft programs such as Word and PowerPoint and able to effectively utilize all available office management technology
  • Demonstrated ability to take initiative, successfully handle and prioritize multiple competing assignments and effectively manage deadlines
  • Professional, articulate, and able to use good independent judgment and discretion

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • National Rifle Association (NRA) Law Enforcement Instructor certification, or able to meet all NRA Law Enforcement (LE) eligibility requirements
  • College coursework in Education, Business, Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Security Management, or related field
  • Prior experience in the fire service, security industry, law enforcement and/or military
  • Experience in security operations or other functions of security industry

  • Vacation time offered at an accrual rate of 3.08 hours biweekly. Unused vacation is only paid out where required by law.
  • Pay $95,000.00 to $105,000.00 yearly
