As Senior Product Owner, you will translate client, market and commercial needs into clear product priorities and deliverable outcomes across Trading and Market Data in South Africa. You will own and prioritise product backlogs, clarify requirements and make timely decisions that enable product and engineering teams to deliver effectively. Working across clients and internal teams, you will ensure that product development creates measurable customer and business value. Your success will be reflected in clear priorities, predictable delivery, strong product adoption and improved client and commercial outcomes.

You own and prioritise product backlogs across Trading and Market Data, ensuring that work aligns with agreed client, product and commercial outcomes.
You translate product strategy and validated client needs into clear epics, features, requirements and acceptance criteria for product and delivery teams.
You make timely product decisions that balance client value, commercial impact, risk, technical feasibility, dependencies and delivery capacity.
You lead structured discovery with clients and internal stakeholders to validate problems, workflows, requirements and proposed solutions.
You collaborate with product, engineering, operations and delivery teams to establish clear priorities, manage dependencies and deliver valuable product outcomes.
You define release goals and success measures, ensuring that delivered capabilities meet agreed quality, risk and client requirements.
You coordinate product and release readiness, including documentation, knowledge transfer, stakeholder communication and operational preparation.
You monitor delivery progress, adoption, client feedback and benefits realised, using evidence to refine priorities and improve the product.
You contribute client, market and commercial insight to product strategies, roadmaps, propositions and investment decisions.
You identify opportunities to simplify product processes, improve delivery effectiveness and reduce dependency on individual specialists.
What you will bring
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
At least five years’ experience in product ownership, product management, business analysis or a related technology role.
Experience owning and prioritising a backlog for a complex technology product, platform, workflow or data service.
Experience translating client and business needs into epics, features, requirements and acceptance criteria.
Experience working closely with product, engineering and delivery teams throughout discovery, development, testing and release.
Knowledge of capital markets, trading, post-trade, investment workflows, Market Data or a closely related financial-services domain.
Experience working in a complex environment involving multiple teams, stakeholders and competing priorities.
Practical experience using product-backlog, delivery and documentation tools.
Preferred
Experience with buy-side, front-office trading, post-trade or Deal Management workflows.
Experience modernising complex workflow, platform or Market Data products.
Experience contributing to product strategies, roadmaps, propositions or commercial business cases.
Experience working across regional and global product and technology teams.
Experience in a software, fintech, financial-information or regulated financial-services business.
Qualifications and certifications
A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent practical experience is preferred.
Product ownership, product management, business analysis or agile delivery certification would be beneficial but is not essential
