Overview

AtkinsRéalis are currently looking for the Health & Safety Inspector is responsible for monitoring and enforcing health and safety standards across project sites and operational areas to ensure a safe working environment. The role involves conducting regular inspections, identifying hazards, verifying compliance with regulatory and client requirements, and supporting the implementation of safety initiatives.

Your role

• Conduct routine site inspections to identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and potential hazards.
• Ensure compliance with company health and safety policies, project requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Monitor day-to-day site activities to verify adherence to approved safety procedures and work methods.
• Inspect work areas, equipment, tools, and machinery to ensure safe operation and compliance.
• Verify proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) by all site personnel.
• Participate in risk assessments and support the implementation of control measures.
• Monitor high-risk activities such as working at height, lifting operations, excavation, confined space entry, and hot work.
• Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, near misses, and safety observations.
• Maintain records of inspections, observations, corrective actions, and safety reports.
• Conduct safety inductions and support toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns.
• Ensure permit-to-work systems are implemented and followed correctly.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions to ensure timely closure.
• Report health and safety concerns and non-conformances to site management.
• Support emergency response drills and emergency preparedness activities.
• Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and workers to promote safe working practices.
• Monitor housekeeping standards to ensure a clean and safe work environment.
• Assist in preparing health and safety statistics, reports, and compliance documentation.

About you

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Minimum 5+ years of Health & Safety inspection experience, preferably on construction, infrastructure, or industrial projects.
• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety principles and practices.
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• NEBOSH IGC, IOSH Managing Safely, OSHA, or equivalent health and safety certification preferred.
• Experience conducting site inspections, audits, and hazard identification activities.
• Knowledge of risk assessment and incident reporting procedures.
• Understanding of permit-to-work systems and high-risk construction activities.
• Ability to identify unsafe conditions and recommend effective corrective actions.
• Strong observation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and report preparation.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and work in field-based environments as required.
