The Measurement and Communications Foreman is responsible for leading field execution and daily support of measurement and communications systems across STX operations. This role oversees installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, calibration, and regulatory / lease compliance for measurement equipment and communication infrastructure, while providing frontline leadership for field technicians and contractors. The ideal candidate combines strong technical knowledge with safe work practices, sound judgment, and the ability to coordinate work across operations, engineering, and field leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, compliance and operational excellence.

  • Lead daily field activities related to gas and liquid measurement and communications systems.

  • Supervise and support field technicians and contractors performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work.

  • Coordinate measurement and communications work to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations.

  • Maintain and troubleshoot meters, analyzers, transmitters, radio, and cellular assets.

  • Ensure meter calibration, proving, inspection, and documentation are completed accurately and on schedule.

  • Support commissioning and startup of new facilities, equipment, and system upgrades.

  • Identify equipment issues, recommend corrective actions, and drive resolution in a timely manner.

  • Work closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and vendors to plan and execute field work.

  • Ensure compliance with company standards, regulatory requirements, and applicable measurement practices.

  • Review field documentation, work orders, drawings, and records for completeness and accuracy.

  • Promote strong housekeeping, asset care, and preventive maintenance practices.

  • Lead by example in safety performance, permit compliance, risk recognition, and stop-work authority.

  • Provide coaching, training, and task direction to team members to support development and accountability.

  • Participate in after-hours callouts and operational support as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Relevant field experience in oil and gas measurement and / or communications.

  • Working knowledge of gas and liquid measurement equipment, SCADA systems, radios, and related field devices.

  • Experience leading field personnel, crews, or contractors in an operational environment.

  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Foreman or supervisory experience in upstream, midstream, or production operations.

  • Familiarity with regulatory and industry measurement standards.

  • Experience with facility startup, project execution, and system integration.

  • Strong computer skills and experience with maintenance, reporting, and work management systems.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

  • Based in Three Rivers, Dilley, or Carrizo Springs with frequent travel to field locations.

  • Work is mixed between outdoor environments and office space.

  • Must be able to lift equipment (50 lbs), climb ladders, walk uneven terrain, and work in varying weather conditions.

  • Must be able to respond to field issues outside normal working hours when required.
