Schedule & Hours:
Typical hours are evenings during the week and weekends (up to a maximum of 20 hours per week) during fall and winter months. Employees are generally assigned 3 shifts per week. Shifts are 4-6 hours on average, dependent on business need
Position Summary: Building Attendants are responsible for the cleanliness, safety and security of the Eagan Civic Arena and its users. Main duties include hosting birthday parties, operating the concessions area and maintaining cleanliness during and after events. The Building Attendant must respond to the needs and concerns of all guests using the facility in a courteous, informed and enthusiastic manner.
- Greet guests of the facility in a courteous, helpful, and enthusiastic manner.
- Answer questions and provide information to guests and members of the public.
- Help to maintain a clean and safe environment for all guests a the Eagan Civic Arena and surrounding grounds.
- Provide exceptional customer service by preparing and selling concession food, hosting birthday parties and group rentals, an on-ice skating.
- Handle payments and operating cash register.
- Assist in inventory of concession supplies and products.
- Perform light maintenance around the facility.
- Enforce Eagan Civic Arena policies and all standards put forth by OSHA and State Health Department.
- Assist in any recreational program, activities, and city-wide events as assigned.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Assist in keeping the common areas clean and safe with light cleaning including sweeping, picking up litter, and cleaning surfaces, and restrooms.
- Set-up and take-down room tables and chairs and decorate for special events.
- Work as part of a team.
- Follow work directions and keep supervisor informed of any concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the position.
- Past experience working in a paid position.
- Experience operating a cash register and handling payment transactions.
- Prior experience in food preparation. Examples could include preparing meals at home, cooking classes, etc.
- Experience working with people from all different backgrounds and age groups. Examples could include babysitting, caring for a sibling, volunteering, youth sports coach, etc.
