Job Summary
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Material Planning Analyst located in Austin TX.
Reporting to the Director, Materials Planning the Material Planning Analyst role involves maintaining materials/purchasing data, supplying data and information to other production departments, coordinating contracts, maintaining Certificates of Conformance for all suppliers, and creating and maintaining outsource parts schedules.
Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do:
- Develop, maintain, and update demand, consumption, and spend forecasting models for assigned programs and business segments.
- Manage material lifecycle activities including inventory accuracy, shelf-life monitoring, expiration control, and cycle count coordination.
- Validate consumption assumptions with Engineering and other stakeholders to improve forecast accuracy and planning effectiveness.
- Provide regular forecasting, spend, inventory, and performance reports to Finance, Operations, and business stakeholders.
- Monitor material availability, supplier performance, and potential supply risks; communicate constraints and recovery plans promptly.
- Drive shortage mitigation activities, including expediting materials, coordinating with suppliers, and providing stakeholder updates.
- Identify and implement opportunities to reduce excess inventory, scrap, and write-offs through effective inventory optimization strategies.
- Collaborate with Purchasing, Supply Chain, and sourcing teams to ensure timely material procurement, deliveries, and cost management.
- Develop and maintain planning processes, work instructions, and reporting standards while overseeing support teams to ensure data accuracy and process compliance.
- Lead continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives related to material planning, forecasting accuracy, inventory management, and supply continuity, and present key metrics during management reviews.
Here is some of what you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- 5 years of experience in materials or related field.
- Experience in Materials Planning in Manufacturing
- Background in Electronics Manufacturing Industry ideal
- Expert level in Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience in forecasting, spend, inventory, and performance reports to Finance, Operations and cost negotiations
- Strong knowledge in customer interfacing
