Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician
Starting pay: $32.18 per hour
Location: North East, Pennsylvania
Openings on first, second, and third shifts

Help Keep Welch’s Running
Welch’s is hiring skilled Multi-Craft Maintenance Technicians for our North East plant. You will troubleshoot, repair, and maintain the equipment and systems that keep our food and beverage production running safely and efficiently.
This is a hands-on opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, working with automated equipment, and making improvements that reduce downtime.
Shifts and Pay
We currently have openings on all three shifts:

First shift: 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at $32.18 per hour

Second shift: 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a $0.45 shift differential, for a total of $32.63 per hour

Third shift: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. with a $0.50 shift differential, for a total of $32.68 per hour
Overtime is available and may also be required based on production needs. This position may include both voluntary and mandatory overtime.
What You’ll Do

Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and processing equipment

Work with electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, pumps, piping, and mechanical systems

Maintain plant utilities, refrigeration systems, control panels, and facility equipment

Complete preventive maintenance to improve safety, reliability, and equipment performance

Work with production teams to solve equipment problems and reduce downtime
-
Install and repair equipment, piping components, controls, and related systems
-
Use a computerized maintenance management system to document work orders, parts, and equipment information
-
Identify root causes and recommend long-term solutions
-
Help train other mechanics on equipment setup and maintenance
-
Follow all safety, food safety, sanitation, and housekeeping requirements
What You’ll Need
-
At least two years of hands-on machine maintenance and repair experience in a manufacturing or processing environment

Experience with electrical systems, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, and mechanical systems

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

The ability to safely work around complex, automated equipment
-
The ability to work independently and as part of a team
-
Clear written and verbal communication skills
-
The ability to work in a facility that is not temperature controlled
-
The ability to work voluntary and mandatory overtime as needed
Experience in food, beverage, or another GMP-regulated environment is preferred. Relevant experience may include work as a Maintenance Technician, Maintenance Mechanic, Utilities Operator, Refrigeration Technician, or Preventive Maintenance Technician.
What to Expect During the Interview Process
Our interview process has two steps:

Maintenance team interview: A 30- to 60-minute conversation with members of our maintenance team about your experience, technical skills, and interest in the role.

Technical assessment: Candidates who move forward will complete a technical test to demonstrate their maintenance knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
Applicants must successfully complete the technical assessment to be considered for hire.
