Job Summary: 

The RN Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating home healthcare services for clients within an assigned coverage area. The RN Supervisor provides clinical oversight to ensure safe, high-quality care while maintaining compliance with applicable state, Medicaid, program, and agency requirements. 

The RN Supervisor is responsible for monitoring client care, supervisory visits, caregiver shifts, admissions, assessments and reassessments, documentation, and overall clinical compliance within the assigned coverage area. This role requires strong clinical judgment, organization, accountability, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities. 

The RN Supervisor is expected to take an active role in maintaining clinical coverage and compliance. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Clinical Oversight & Client Care 

● Oversee admissions, assessments, reassessments, care plans, supervisory visits, and clinical documentation for clients within the assigned coverage area. ● Monitor caregiver shifts and service delivery to ensure services are provided as authorized and in accordance with the plan of care. 

● Provide clinical guidance to nursing staff and address changes in client condition, care needs, or other clinical concerns. 

● Complete required supervisory visits, assessments, or other clinical responsibilities when assigned staff are unavailable or unable to complete them, as needed to maintain continuity of care and compliance. 

Staff Leadership & Coordination 

● Provide clinical direction, support, and accountability to nursing staff within the assigned coverage area. 

● Monitor staff performance and follow through on concerns related to client care, documentation, supervisory visits, and other assigned responsibilities.

● Assist with recruitment, onboarding, training, and evaluation of nursing personnel as needed. 

● Identify staffing and clinical coverage gaps and work with leadership to address them. 

Compliance & Quality Assurance 

● Maintain accountability for clinical compliance within the assigned coverage area, including required visits, assessments, documentation, and program requirements. 

● Identify and address compliance gaps, clinical risks, and documentation concerns in a timely manner. 

● Participate in audits, corrective action plans, and quality improvement initiatives. ● Ensure incidents and other reportable concerns are appropriately documented, reported, and followed through to resolution. 

Client & Interdisciplinary Coordination 

● Serve as a clinical point of contact for clients, caregivers, families, physicians, case managers, and other healthcare professionals. 

● Provide education and support regarding client care, care plans, and program requirements. 

● Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to promote safe, consistent, and appropriate client care. 

● Respond to clinical concerns and emergencies and escalate issues appropriately. 

Qualifications & Requirements 

● Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Georgia. 

● Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; home healthcare experience preferred. 

● Prior supervisory or clinical leadership experience preferred. 

● Knowledge of Medicaid regulations, state requirements, and applicable home healthcare/program requirements. 

● Strong clinical assessment, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 

● Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and a defined geographic coverage area. 

● Strong accountability and follow-through with the ability to identify and resolve clinical and compliance concerns. 

● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

● Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) and clinical documentation standards. 

● Ability and willingness to travel throughout the assigned coverage area to complete supervisory visits, assessments, reassessments, and other clinical responsibilities as needed. 

● Willingness to travel to additional coverage areas if needed. 

● Ability to step into direct clinical responsibilities, including completing supervisory visits, when necessary to support client care and maintain compliance.
