Description
I have a client in Fort Myers, FL who’s looking for a Controls Engineer to join their team. This person will be supporting automation projects through PLC programming, software development, troubleshooting, and commissioning.
This role is ideal for someone with a few solid years of controls or automation experience who wants to grow into more project ownership while working with a stable, established engineering team.
This is an onsite DIRECT-HIRE position with 20-25% travel.
Job Requirements:
- 3–5 years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or PLC programming
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Mechatronics, Software Engineering, or related field (preferred, not required)
- Hands‑on experience with PLC programming and ladder logic
- Exposure to automation software development or industrial control systems
- Experience with startup, testing, or commissioning of automated equipment
- Ability to travel 20–25% for commissioning and customer support
- Strong troubleshooting skills and comfort working in a manufacturing environment
