Mars Petcare- Shift Manager– Columbus, OH
- Pay: Based on experience between $89K- 100K
- This site manufactures petfood.
Shift Schedule:
- Shift: 3rd (Nights)
- Schedule: 2.2.3 rotation
- Hours: 7pm- 730am
Description of Role:
The Shift Manager is an operations people leader who efficiently improves Human Safety, Quality, and Conversion Costs while Engaging and Developing talent in the production facility.
What are we looking for?
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent education
- 3+ years of direct people leadership experience
- 5+ years working in a Continuous Improvement manufacturing environment
- Ability to effectively deploy training strategies and to directly train others.
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint) and email
Physical Requirements:
- Can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs) and pushing/pulling (50-300 lbs)
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling, and gripping.
- Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment, and operate in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand and work on feet for extended periods, with shifts lasting 12 hours
- Capable of working in hot, cold and wet conditions
- Proficient in understanding, communicating, reading, and writing in English.

What will be my key responsibilities?
- Lead team of 15-22 associates to efficiently convert materials into quality products ensuring safety, security, sanitation, and adherence to design specifications and budgets.
- Recommend and implement CI improvements in methods, equipment, systems, safety, product quality and the organization.
- Guide teams through Autonomous Maintenance (AM)
- People management including hiring, coaching, training and evaluating associate performance and create development plans aligned with career goals.
- Assist Production Leads in coordinating materials, staffing, and resources for efficient line operations and changeovers.
- Handle additional ad hoc tasks as needed.
