About the role

Provide specialist leadership and technical support in the planning, implementation, and documentation of land acquisition and resettlement
activities for the project. The position is responsible for preparing Land Acquisition Plans, conducting land assessments, estimating land
acquisition and resettlement costs, and ensuring compliance with applicable land laws, regulations, and project safeguard requirements. The
role also coordinates with government agencies, project stakeholders, and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate timely land acquisition,
minimize social impacts, and support the successful implementation of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect, review, and analyze project alignment, cadastral maps, land ownership records, and relevant legal documents to
    determine land acquisition requirements.

  • Conduct field investigations and coordinate with survey, design, and relevant government agencies to verify land boundaries,
    ownership status, and affected properties

  • Prepare the Land Acquisition Plan (LAP) in accordance with project requirements, applicable laws, regulations, and client
    guidelines, including identification of affected land parcels and associated impacts.

  • Coordinate with the Deputy Commissioner's (DC) Office, Sub-Registrar Office, Land Office, and other relevant government
    agencies to obtain required land-related records and documents.

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for resettlement activities, including compensation, relocation assistance, livelihood
    restoration, and administrative expenses

  • Coordinate with engineering, social, environmental, and finance teams to ensure cost estimates reflect the latest project
    design and implementation requirements

About You:

  • Graduation in Social Science or equivalent relevant subject

  • 12 years total professional experience, preferably 8 years’ experience in railway field

  • 5 years’ experience in similar type feasibility study and design consultancy, including preferably 5 years’ experience in similar
    post for similar type consultancy

  • Working experience in international donor agency funded project would be preferable.
