JOB TITLE: Fabricator
DEPARTMENT: Sign Fabrication
REPORTS TO: General Manager
FLSA STATUS: Non-exempt
JOB SUMMARY:
The Fabricator will manufacture a variety of signage products or components, including metal, plastic, illuminated, and non-illuminated, using tools and raw materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reads blueprints, schematics, or drawings and utilizes such to fabricate partial or entire signage products according to specification and UL requirements.
- Lays out raw materials.
- Welds steel and aluminum.
- Operates folding machines and other metal sheet equipment (rollers, punches, shears, horizontal bandsaws).
- Installs and wires various types of lighting (incandescent, fluorescent, LED).
- Sands and preps signs prior to painting.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to cut bend, and form sign parts that have combined straight, edged, and irregular curves.
- Must be able to lift or move up to 80 pounds.
- Basic abilities in mathematics and reading.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and drawings.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to work an 8-hour shift, regularly stand, walk, lift, and reach with hands and arms.
- Ability to use basic tools (drills, grinder, sander, etc.)
- Knowledge of UL requirements.
