The Investment Data Solutions Manager is responsible for enabling investment professionals to discover, access, and use investment data effectively.
The role partners closely with Portfolio Managers, Analytics teams, Quantitative Research teams, Risk teams, and other data consumers to understand requirements, onboard new datasets and content, improve adoption of available data services, and ensure data is delivered reliably from source through business consumption.
The role leads an onshore/offshore Data Operations team and serves as the accountable owner for assigned investment data services. Success is measured by service reliability, speed of onboarding new data, ease of data discovery and access, and the effectiveness of the operating model supporting data delivery.
Responsibilities:
- Build trusted relationships with Portfolio Managers, Analytics teams, Quantitative Research teams, Risk teams, and other investment data consumers.
- Understand how investment teams use data and translate business needs into actionable requirements.
- Help users identify, access, and effectively leverage available data.
- Promote adoption of data services and reduce friction in the user experience.
- Coordinate onboarding of new datasets and new content required by investment teams.
- Drive delivery of approved data requirements from request through production availability.
- Partner with engineering, operations, and vendor teams to accelerate delivery and remove obstacles.
- Ensure delivered data meets agreed business requirements and is fit for purpose.
- Act as the accountable owner for assigned investment data services and datasets.
- Maintain accountability for data service outcomes from source through business consumption.
- Ensure services meet expectations for availability, timeliness, completeness, accuracy, and usability.
- Coordinate resolution of data incidents and recurring service issues.
- Establish and maintain a practical data governance operating model that defines clear roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and accountability across business, technology, operations, and vendor teams.
- Define ownership for data onboarding, service management, data quality, issue resolution, controls, and business communication.
- Ensure operational processes, escalation paths, and support models enable reliable service delivery and effective cross-functional execution.
- Lead an onshore/offshore Data Operations team responsible for onboarding, support, and operational management of investment data services.
- Set priorities, develop team capability, and align resources to business needs.
Promote accountability, ownership, operational excellence, and continuous improvement.
Position Requirements:
- 8+ years of experience working with investment, market, pricing, risk, reference, economic, analytics, or related financial data
- Strong understanding of investment management workflows and how investment professionals consume data.
- Experience partnering directly with Portfolio Managers, Analytics teams, Quantitative Research teams, Risk teams, traders, or similar stakeholders.
- Experience leading business-facing data operations, data services, or data management organizations.
- Experience onboarding and supporting business-critical datasets and data services.
- Demonstrated ability to manage data service issues through investigation, escalation, remediation, and resolution across multiple teams.
- Experience establishing operating models, ownership structures, service management processes, or cross-functional governance frameworks.
- Experience leading distributed onshore/offshore teams.
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, and execution skills.
- Ability to influence and drive outcomes across business, technology, operations, and vendor organizations without direct authority.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- SQL and Python proficiency sufficient to investigate issues, validate outcomes, and engage effectively with technical teams.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fixed Income, Multi-Asset, Alternatives, Risk Analytics, or Market Data experience
- Experience with investment data vendors and external data providers.
- Experience supporting production data services, incident management, and operational service ownership.
- Experience working with enterprise data platforms and analytics environments.
- CFA, FRM, or equivalent investment industry experience.
Salary Range: $ 150,000.00 - $ 240,000.00
