- Building Maintenance & Structural Upkeep: Perform general carpentry, drywall repair, interior/exterior painting, and door/hardware adjustments. Execute minor plumbing and electrical repairs (e.g., fixing leaks, unclogging drains, replacing light fixtures/ballasts).
- Comprehensive Groundskeeping: Maintain all outdoor spaces, including lawn care (mowing, trimming, edging), landscaping upkeep (weed control, planting, pruning), and debris/trash removal across parking lots and walkways.
- Seasonal Operations: Oversee weather-related property safety, including proactive snow removal, salting walkways, and managing stormwater drainage clearing during heavy weather events.
- Asset & Work Management: Track, log, and close out routine work orders using our digital work management system (CMMS) to document daily facility and grounds tasks.
- Safety & Compliance: Operate all hand tools, power tools, commercial lawn equipment, and utility vehicles safely. Maintain compliance with facility safety protocols, including appropriate PPE usage and basic Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) rules.
- Vendor Support & Janitorial Backup: Coordinate with external waste management, landscaping, or specialized structural contractors as needed. Assist with localized deep cleaning or emergency spills when required.
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in general building maintenance, property management, or commercial groundskeeping.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient with commercial landscaping equipment (zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers) and standard hand/power tools used for building repairs.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly, climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
- Digital Literacy: Comfort using smartphone or tablet-based apps to receive and update daily work orders.
- Licensing: Valid driver’s license (clean driving record required for operating facility utility vehicles).
- Experience operating heavy machinery (e.g., skid steers, tractors, or snowplows).
- Basic certifications in OSHA general industry safety.
- Prior experience in a commercial, corporate, or utility campus environment.
