Overview
We are currently seeking a Transportation Engineering Graduate to join our Transportation team. Our team specializes in the critical networks that keep a community moving and connected, providing preliminary and detailed design for transportation projects with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and local municipalities.
This is a new position and is based at our Kingston or Ottawa offices. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

Responsibilities
Design and Project Coordination
- Assist project managers with coordination of transportation projects
- Assist in the design of transportation projects including:
- Preliminary and Detailed design
- Engineering studies
- Technical specifications
- Design calculations
- Transportation drafting using CADD software
- Assist with site investigations and condition assessments
- Complete review of safe work practices and perform risk assessments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including engineers, planners, environmental scientists, engineering technologists and administrative support staff
Business Development
- Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations
- Participation in the Early Career Development program
Learning and Development
- Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development
- Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees
Qualifications
- A degree in civil engineering
- Registered as an engineer-in-training, or be eligible within six months
- 0 – 2 years' experience, preferably in the consulting industry
Experience
- Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of industry standards, specifications and good engineering practices
- Understand project design and implementation activities, including: development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering and contract administration
- Proficient in the use of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads Designer or InRoads software will be considered an asset
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Compensation$57,500.00 - $85,000At Dillon, we believe in transparency. The following salary range is what we expect to offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicant’s education, experience, and skills, in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range, contingent on factors unrelated to an applicant’s gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
