Purpose of the Role
To oversee the financial management, reporting, analysis, and governance of direct costs and acquisition expenses across the Life business, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost optimisation, budget control, and compliance with accounting and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and monitor direct costs at departmental level acquisition costs by channel
Review monthly cost performance and provide variance analysis against budget and forecast.
Ensure accurate accounting, accruals, allocations, and financial reporting of direct and acquisition costs.
Track acquisition cost trends and provide insights on cost efficiency and product profitability.
Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
Partner with business stakeholders to drive cost management and accountability.
Develop and maintain cost monitoring dashboards and management reports.
Ensure compliance with IFRS, internal policies, and governance requirements.
Manage month-end and year-end reporting requirements.
Support internal and external audits and address audit queries relating to cost reporting.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost optimisation.
Key Requirements
Relevant Bachelors' degree
CA(SA) or equivalent finance qualification.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in financial management, business partnering, or management reporting.
Strong budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis skills.
Experience in financial services or insurance will be advantageous.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Advanced Excel and financial reporting system experience.
