The American Red Cross is currently seeking a Lead Development Coordinator to support our Albany, NY office in Eastern New York Region.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview): 

The Lead Development Coordinator supports the development team by providing expertise in data analysis, system training, reporting, data integrity, and process improvement. This role plays a key part in ensuring accurate gift processing, maintaining data quality, supporting event management activities, and implementing strategic procedures that enhance operational efficiency and fundraising effectiveness. This role is not eligible for relocation assistance.

WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):   

  • Serve as an integral member of the major gifts team, providing prospect research, data insights, and operational leadership that strengthen donor strategy, enhance fundraiser effectiveness, and drive sustained revenue growth.
  • Oversee gift processing and revenue accuracy by managing gift adjustments, linking, and compliance with monthly and quarterly deadlines. Ensure timely processing, accurate fundraiser credit, and high‑quality donor data across all systems.
  • Lead portfolio, pipeline, and data integrity management, maintaining clean portfolios, monitoring ask and close activity, executing data hygiene updates, and ensuring donor records, accounts, and assignments reflect current strategies and regional goals.
  • Produce and maintain gift, donor, and dashboard reporting that deliver timely, actionable insights for leadership and relationship managers, supporting forecasting, performance tracking, and strategic decision‑making.
  • Manage regional prospect research by coordinating research priorities, guiding data‑quality efforts, and equipping fundraisers with accurate intelligence to strengthen donor engagement and portfolio strategy.
  • Coordinate support for signature fundraising events, preparing targeted donor and sponsor lists, ensuring timely gift processing and acknowledgements, and maintaining high‑quality data before, during, and after both major events.
  • Support board campaign strategy and execution by managing gift tracking, maintaining accurate donor records, and producing clear, actionable reporting that equips board members and leadership to monitor progress, strengthen engagement, and achieve campaign revenue goals.
  • Lead training, onboarding, and volunteer oversight by serving as the primary systems trainer, delivering ongoing skill‑building on Salesforce, PowerBI, and national tools, and supervising volunteers supporting data entry and development operations.
  • Serve as regional liaison to national teams for data systems, gift processing, and research, supporting tracking of large, budgeted gifts, forecasting visibility, and alignment with fiscal timelines.

PAY INFORMATION:

The salary range for this position is (New York):  $24.00 - $26.00

Note that the American Red Cross sets salary ranges aligned to a specific geographic location in which the work is performed. The stated salary range in this posting is an average. The specific salary information will be shared at the time of phone screening based upon your location and qualifications. Responsible for the development of volunteer leadership and engagement.This role is not eligible for relocation assistance

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

  • Education: Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and related experience required.
  • Skills & Abilities: Good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Basic proficiency in use of Personal Computer, word-processing, spreadsheet applications, and database applications when applicable. Ability to work on a team.
  • Travel: May travel and participate in meetings and conferences throughout chapter jurisdiction, state and Red Cross system.

* Combination of candidate’s education and general experience satisfies requirements so long as the total years equate to description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical requirements are those present in normal office environment conditions. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods of time, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.
