Enabling Healthcare Across Networks of Central East (ENHANCE) Ontario (also referred to here as “EO”) is a not-for-profit corporate entity which will provide centralized IT services to its seven (7) member hospitals (Campbellford Memorial Hospital, Haliburton Highlands Health Services, Lakeridge health, Northumberland Hills Hospital, Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Ross Memorial Hospital, and Scarborough Health Network) to manage and operate a set of shared digital assets. This will enable its 7 member hospitals across 14 sites to deliver high quality and safe patient care using the shared Epic Clinical Information System (“CIS”) to over 1.5 million patients residing in both rural and urban communities located in the Central East region of Ontario.

ENHANCE Ontario Team Lead - Hospital Billing


Reporting to the Director of Data & Analytics the Hospital Billing Team Lead provides day-to-day leadership, coordination, and technical guidance for a team of Analysts responsible for the support, optimization, and delivery of the Epic Resolute Billing application, including Hospital Billing, Charging, Claims, Remittance, Case Costing and General Ledger integration. This role focuses on organizing work, setting priorities, mentoring staff, and supporting successful delivery in a complex, multi-organization environment.


Engaging with the Member Hospitals in Central East, the Hospital Billing Team Lead actively participates in the governance structure and assists in the identification and prioritization of new initiatives and opportunities to address operational challenges. The role requires sound judgment, strong collaboration, and the ability to balance operational support, optimization, and project delivery across competing priorities and interdependent teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Hospital Billing team's day-to-day activities across operational support, system optimization, upgrades, and project delivery
  • Allocate workload, balance team capacity across operational priorities, optimization work, and project timelines
  • Accountable for ongoing assessment of project and issue status for Hospital Billing initiatives, driving decisions and alignment with leadership
  • Identify, escalate, and support mitigation of operational risks, dependencies, and delivery challenges within Hospital Billing work streams, and regularly review project and issue status with leadership
  • Lead and guide the Hospital Billing team in prioritizing implementation, optimization, and maintenance activities to support service stability, delivery commitments, and compliance with change management and other governance requirements
  • Independently evaluate the Hospital Billing application, analyze complex Hospital Billing, Charging, Claims, Remittance, Case Costing and General Ledger issues, troubleshoot break fixes, test resolutions, and provide ongoing maintenance and support
  • Apply subject matter expertise in Hospital Billing, Charging, Claims, Remittance, and General Ledger integration to inform best approaches for revenue cycle workflow design, requirement gathering, and system capabilities, ensuring people, process, and technology align
  • Guide and support operational governance committees and working groups with revenue cycle workflow design and optimization decisions by highlighting Hospital Billing system capabilities, limitations, risks, and related considerations
  • Support workgroups, operational committees, and governance processes by translating organizational priorities into coordinated action plans for Hospital Billing and Case Costing initiatives
  • Foster strong relationships with hospital stakeholders and support service improvements, new deployments, and initiatives that maximize value for member hospitals in Central East
  • Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Hospital Billing Analysts and Principal Trainers, and support the manager with recruitment, attendance, and staffing-related activities
  • Collaborate with Principal Trainers to maintain Hospital Billing training materials and content in sync with build updates, to support end users
  • Champion end-user needs by supporting solutions aligned with revenue cycle workflows, business requirements, and adoption goals, and by working with Principal Trainers and Credentialed Trainers to keep training materials current

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience leading change initiatives and managing projects with interdisciplinary teams
  • Minimum 1 Epic Resolute Billing certification required (Resolute Hospital Billing); multiple certifications preferred (Hospital Billing Claims & Remittance, Charge Router)
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of related Epic Hospital Billing applications experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of revenue cycle, healthcare finance, and/or project management experience required
  • Strong working knowledge of Hospital Billing systems and change management, including development/design, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation
  • Strong working knowledge of hospital finance and administrative departments, including Charging, Claims, Remittance, General Ledger, and Case Costing workflows
