ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
We’re seeking motivated and friendly individuals for casual roles to join our Resource Unit at St Vincent’s Private Hospital across all our campuses, with flexible shift options, including night duty.
Your strong clerical experience in addition to your ability to deliver excellent customer service doctors, nursing, all hospital staff and patients is critical to this role.
As a Ward Clerk / Customer Service Officer you will play a key part in supporting hospital operations while undertaking the following tasks:
Support patient flow by assisting with Patient Admissions, Transfers and Discharges
Act as a key point of contact for enquiries and ward coordination
Welcome and provide a friendly, professional and helpful service to patients, families, visitors and staff
Answering telephone enquiries and maintaining accurate records using hospital information systems
Manage Medical Records and Patient Documentation
Provide administration support to the Nurse Unit Manager and the ward staff
Managing and operating the switchboard and reception
Health Fund checking and processing

ABOUT YOUR NEW ROLE:
St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne - Resource Unit, are seeking experienced Ward Clerks/ Customer Service Officers (CSO) to join our casual Support Services Team.
In this rewarding opportunity you will join the St Vincent’s Private Hospital Melbourne (SVPHM) Resource Unit team as Ward Clerk/ CSO on a casual basis, if you are after flexibility and variety we would like to hear from you!
This position involves a broad range of administrative duties including admitting, transferring, discharging patients as required, reception, telephone enquiries and record management. You will be provided with training in the use of our internal patient information systems which will include performing data entry, maintenance and compilation of medical records and ensuring our patient systems are updated.
ABOUT YOU:
You are an enthusiastic and experienced Ward Clerk / Customer Experience Officer with the following:
Previous hospital and or customer service experience
Experience with hospital patient information management system and medical terminology is highly desirable
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Proven attention to detail and accuracy
Friendly and approachable with a commitment to patient-centred care
Adaptable and reliable to work across different clinical settings
Previous experience in health fund billings is desirable
Must have flexibility to work various shifts morning, evenings and night duty
