General Summary:

We are seeking highly motivated candidates with strong software development expertise and hands-on experience in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. In this role, you will be part of a team responsible for advancing the performance optimization tools and workflows that enable state-of-the-art AI and machine learning solutions on the Snapdragon platform.

You will drive technical initiatives to evaluate, benchmark, and continuously improve AI optimization workflows, creating reference implementations and best practices for Windows on Snapdragon application developers. You will contribute to enhancements across the software stack, including SDKs, tools, and documentation, directly improving developer productivity and enabling optimal application performance on Snapdragon platforms.

You will work closely with software and hardware architects, development leads, customer engineering teams, and application developers to deliver industry-leading AI experiences.

Responsibilities

• Enable AI application development on Windows on Snapdragon through the Snapdragon software stack.
• Drive the adoption of Windows AI platforms by reducing barriers to entry for application developers and resolving complex customer issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional and global teams to develop best-in-class, high-performance AI solutions that can be leveraged by third-party Windows application developers.
• Analyze emerging trends in machine learning, generative AI, and large language models through developer engagements and academic research.
• Perform competitive benchmarking of AI tools, workflows, and state-of-the-art models across industry-leading platforms.
• Drive continuous improvements in AI model performance, efficiency, and accuracy on Windows on Snapdragon platforms.
• Develop reference workflows and optimization methodologies to help developers maximize the capabilities of Snapdragon CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs.

Skills and Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in AI/ML application development.
• Hands-on experience optimizing AI models for performance, power, and accuracy on hardware accelerators such as CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs.
• Experience architecting, designing, and implementing software frameworks for complex heterogeneous or multi-processor systems. Familiarity with open-source AI inference frameworks such as llama.cpp is a plus.
• Strong understanding of modern machine learning architectures, including CNNs, RNNs, Transformers, and ensemble methods.
• Proficiency with AI frameworks and tooling such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX Runtime, and MLIR.
• Experience with transformer-based models such as BERT, GPT, T5, and Llama. Experience developing, optimizing, or deploying large language models (LLMs) or foundation models is a strong plus.
• Good understanding of the end-to-end AI software stack, including model development, optimization, deployment, and hardware acceleration technologies.
• Experience building AI and LLM-powered applications on Windows using CPU, GPU, and NPU acceleration. Familiarity with embedding models, sentence transformers, retrieval pipelines, and production AI workflows is preferred.
• Strong programming skills in C, C++, and Python.
• Experience using processor-specific optimization tools, libraries, and profiling technologies to improve AI performance on CPUs, GPUs, and NPUs is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, think critically, and adapt in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving technology environment.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 2+ years of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

Master's degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field and 1+ year of Software Engineering or related work experience.

OR

PhD in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

• 2+ years of academic or work experience with Programming Language such as C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
