Job Overview & Work Site
Help Us Build What’s Next
Greensboro Physical Therapy is growing across the Greensboro and High Point market, and we are looking for a high-performing healthcare business development professional who can help us strengthen our presence, develop meaningful referral relationships, and generate measurable growth throughout the region.
This is more than a traditional physician liaison or community outreach position. We are looking for someone who thinks like a salesperson and a market builder: someone who can identify opportunity, develop a strategy, build relationships, open doors, and turn those relationships into sustainable referral growth.
This position will own physician and healthcare referral development across the Greensboro and High Point market, with a particular focus on strengthening existing referral relationships, developing new accounts, and building referral pipelines that support continued growth.
What You’ll Own
Market & Referral Growth
You will be responsible for developing and executing a regional growth strategy that drives measurable patient referral growth.
This includes:
- Identifying and prioritizing high-value physicians, practices, health systems, and other referral opportunities throughout the market
- Developing new physician and healthcare referral relationships
- Growing referral volume and market share within existing accounts
- Identifying underdeveloped accounts and creating strategies to increase engagement and referral activity
- Prospecting consistently to expand Greensboro Physical Therapy's referral network
- Identifying barriers to referral and working with clinic and operational leadership to remove them
- Converting relationships and opportunities into measurable patient referrals
Regional Market Development
As Greensboro Physical Therapy continues to grow its presence in the Triad, you will play an important role in developing the referral network needed to support that growth.
You will:
- Research and assess referral opportunities across Greensboro, High Point, and surrounding communities
- Identify priority referral targets based on opportunity, geography, specialty, and clinic needs
- Develop relationships with providers and practices in both established and developing areas of the market
- Partner with leadership and clinic teams to create market-specific growth strategies
- Build awareness and referral momentum around clinic growth and expansion
- Identify emerging opportunities that can strengthen Greensboro Physical Therapy's position throughout the region
The goal is not simply to introduce Greensboro Physical Therapy to more providers. The goal is to build a strong, sustainable referral network capable of supporting long-term clinic growth.
Strategic Account Management
You will develop relationships with physicians, practice managers, referral coordinators, front-office teams, and other healthcare stakeholders who influence where patients receive physical therapy.
You will:
- Develop account-specific strategies based on referral potential and current performance
- Build relationships across multiple levels within priority practices
- Understand the needs, challenges, and referral patterns of each account
- Communicate Greensboro Physical Therapy's clinical capabilities and patient-access advantages effectively
- Identify opportunities to strengthen relationships and increase referral volume
- Maintain consistent follow-up and appropriate account coverage based on opportunity
How Success Will Be Measured
This is an outcome-driven position. While consistent sales activity is important, success will ultimately be measured by market growth.
Key performance indicators may include:
- Growth in physician and healthcare-generated referrals
- New referring accounts developed
- Growth within existing referral relationships
- Referral development supporting clinic growth and market expansion
- Conversion of targeted opportunities into active referral relationships
- Quality and consistency of CRM pipeline management
Specific goals will be established based on market opportunity, clinic capacity, and the maturity of individual referral relationships.
Partnership With Our Clinics
Successful business development requires strong alignment between sales and clinical operations.
You will work closely with Clinic Directors, clinicians, operations leadership, and company leadership to:
- Understand clinic capacity and growth needs
- Identify clinical specialties and differentiators that matter to referral partners
- Share market intelligence and referral feedback
- Identify service or access barriers that may impact referral growth
- Coordinate outreach around new providers, programs, services, and clinic growth initiatives
*This is not a remote position.
Benefits
Benefits for Full-Time Employees include but are not limited to:
- Salary range: $50,000-$55,000
- Incentive plan potential averaging around 10%, dependent on clinic evaluation goals and new referral sources.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance options
- 401(k) retirement plan with employer match
- Paid time off (PTO) and paid holidays
- Company-paid life insurance
- Mileage reimbursement for territory travel
- Cell phone stipend
- Continuing education and professional development support
- Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
License & Experience
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a competitive, relationship-driven sales professional who enjoys building something and wants their results to be visible.
Strong candidates will have:
- 3+ years of successful outside sales, healthcare business development, physician relations, medical sales, or comparable B2B sales experience
- A demonstrated history of achieving measurable sales, referral, revenue, or territory-growth goals
- Strong prospecting and relationship-development skills
- Confidence engaging physicians, healthcare administrators, practice managers, and other decision-makers with a strong consultative selling style
- Experience using a CRM to manage sales activity, opportunities, and follow-up; Salesforce experience is a plus
- Comfort using data to identify opportunities and evaluate performance
- Strong organization, accountability, and follow-through
- The ability to work independently while remaining closely connected to a broader team
Existing relationships within the Greensboro, High Point, or greater Triad healthcare community are a plus.
Experience in physical therapy is not required. We can teach you our clinical services. We are looking for someone who already knows how to sell, develop relationships, and grow a market.
The Opportunity
Greensboro Physical Therapy is growing, and this role has the opportunity to grow with it.
As our presence across Greensboro, High Point, and the surrounding market continues to expand, successful performance in this position may create opportunities for increased market responsibility and future sales leadership.
We want someone who is excited by the opportunity to look at a market, identify where growth can come from, develop the relationships necessary to capture it, and then see the results reflected in the clinics they support.
Professional Development
Why Greensboro Physical Therapy?

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a market, build meaningful healthcare relationships, and directly influence the growth of the clinics you support.
If you are energized by developing relationships, opening new opportunities, building referral pipelines, and being accountable for measurable growth, we would like to meet you.
