Job Summary

The Company Driver II is an experienced driving role responsible for safely and efficiently operating company vehicles to transport goods, materials, or personnel in support of business operations. This role contributes directly to service reliability, customer satisfaction, and operational efficiency through consistent execution, sound judgment, and adherence to safety and regulatory requirements.

Job Description

Role Overview The Company Driver II performs regular driving duties using company‑owned vehicles, typically within a defined geographic area. This role is responsible for following designated routes, schedules, and procedures while ensuring vehicle safety, cargo integrity, and compliance with all applicable laws and company policies. More complex issues or unusual situations are escalated to supervisors as needed. Key Responsibilities Vehicle Operation & Transportation Safely operate company vehicles to transport materials, goods, or personnel as assigned Complete assigned routes, pickups, and deliveries in a timely and professional manner Adjust routes or schedules as needed to accommodate traffic, weather, or operational changes Safety, Compliance & Vehicle Care Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations (if applicable), and company safety policies Conduct pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance or safety issues Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of assigned vehicles Ensure safe loading, securing, and unloading of materials Documentation & Communication Accurately complete logs, delivery records, trip reports, or electronic tracking entries Communicate delays, issues, or incidents promptly to supervisors or dispatch Maintain clear, professional communication with internal teams and external contacts Customer & Site Interaction Serve as a professional company representative during deliveries or site visits Follow customer, facility, and site‑specific safety and security requirements Address routine customer questions or issues courteously and appropriately Support & Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve route efficiency, safety, or service reliability Provide informal guidance to Company Driver I roles as needed Support training, safety meetings, and compliance initiatives Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Valid driver’s license appropriate to vehicle type; CDL required if applicable Typically 2–4 years of professional or commercial driving experience Clean or acceptable driving record per company standards Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Strong knowledge of safe‑driving practices and traffic regulations Ability to operate vehicles confidently and independently Good time‑management and organizational skills Ability to follow routes, schedules, and written instructions Strong professionalism and customer‑service orientation Ability to work independently with limited supervision
