The Opportunity

 As a Pediatric Registered Nurse in COPA’s Allergy and Immunology Clinic, you’ll provide specialized nursing care to infants, children, and adolescents with allergic and immune conditions. You’ll work closely with physicians and clinical teams to conduct assessments, administer treatments, perform diagnostic testing, and educate patients and families. This role combines clinical expertise, independent judgment, and hands-on patient care while supporting the daily operations of the Allergy Clinic. The Job

• Provide pediatric nursing care: Assess patients, prioritize care, assist with RN appointments, administer medications and immunizations, and support providers and clinical teams. 
• Perform allergy testing and treatments: Conduct skin prick testing, administer food and drug challenges, provide oral and sublingual immunotherapy, and administer allergy injections and biologic therapies. 
• Monitor patient safety: Observe patients for reactions during testing and treatment, recognize potential emergencies, and initiate appropriate emergency procedures under physician supervision. 
• Educate patients and families: Provide guidance on allergy management, allergen avoidance, asthma action plans, and emergency medication use, including EpiPens. 
• Support clinic operations: Maintain accurate EHR documentation, manage supplies and equipment, coordinate treatment authorizations, monitor patient messages, and assist with staff training.

Requirements

Education and Certification

• Graduate of an accredited Nursing program, BSN preferred. Current Oregon RN Licensure and license must be in good standing.
• Recognized certifications in addition to OR RN (required) include: CPN, CPEN, OHA HCI Qualified or Certified Interpreter.
• Experience in allergy and immunology settings is a plus.

Experience

• Nursing experience required; pediatric experience and telephone triage preferred. Experience with working with electronic medical records systems and MS Office. Epic experience preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Use of clear and audible speaking voice and the ability to hear normal speech level in person, over the telephone or through use of other required technology.
• Sitting or standing for long periods of time. Frequent repetitive motion includes computer keyboard use, reaching with hands and arms, and walking. Occasional lifting and or moving up to 30 pounds and on rare occasion up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include viewing computer monitor for long periods of time, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
• Must be able to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Working Conditions

• Work inside in a general medical office setting with ergonomically configured equipment.
• The employee is subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to mechanical parts and chemicals including odors. The employee has been identified as having the likelihood of occupational exposure to blood and other potentially infectious materials, therefore are included in the OSHA Exposure Control Plan with specification for preventing contact with the above materials.
• Travel between COPA clinics, business office, and lab as required.
