What you get to do:

The In-Direct Procurement Buyer will be a part of a team responsible for Sourcing & Procurement activities with a focus on requisition queue management, stakeholder engagement, tactical sourcing, and adherence to policies in support of business units within United Parks & Resorts. Potential areas of purchasing responsibility include construction services, chemicals, MRO, transportation equipment, and ride parts.

  • Ensure the timely issuance and closure of purchase and service orders from approved requisitions
  • Monitor requests for additions to the vendor base to ensure purchases directed to preferred vendors
  • Lead the identification and implementation of online catalogs with preferred vendors
  • Establish and monitor supplier pricing agreements to ensure compliance
  • Develop strong working relationships with business units through active listening and problem solving to gain a position of influence as a trusted advisor
  • Partner with Accounts Payable to resolve vendor payment issues
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to create, publish and evaluate RFx projects
  • Ensure consistent compliance with Sourcing and Procurement policies and provide educational feedback to client organizations where appropriate
  • Liaise with Corporate departments including I.T., Compliance, Finance, Audit and Legal on purchases as necessary
  • National program management: Liaison between national vendors, stakeholders, and Supply Chain team for communication of program and price updates as well as auditing of price changes against agreements
  • ERP Master data creation and maintenance (material master, vendor master back up), maintenance of product specifications linked to appropriate material master, generating reports for sourcing projects, rebates, outline agreement creation and maintenance, etc.
  • Communicate and report to management the status of any critical purchases that could affect planning and decision-making

What it takes to succeed:

  • Must have at least 3 years’ experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or other quantitative discipline is preferred
  • Professional certification in CPSM preferred
  • Must have experience with Sourcing & Procurement processes
  • Demonstrated knowledge of variations in the financial terms of contracts, service models, contract standards, and other business practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, including a demonstrated ability to articulate ideas and issues clearly, concisely and persuasively to a variety of audiences, including technical, administrative, vendor representatives and senior management.
  • Demonstrate critical thinking; consider all factors affecting a decision before making a recommendation
  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills
  • The role requires excellent internal and external customer service skills
  • Must have experience with SAP or other ERP system
  • Experience with eSourcing systems (i.e., Ariba, Zycus) a plus
  • Unyielding integrity and strong multi-tasking and time-management skills
  • Support additional procurement projects as needed
