About this role:

Wells Fargo is seeking a Technology Executive, Head of Information Security, India.

The India Cybersecurity Leader serves as the senior-most Cyber executive for Wells Fargo in India and a key member of the Global CISO’s leadership team. This leader oversees a large and diverse cybersecurity workforce of approximately 1,000 employees and contractors, driving the delivery of mission‑critical Cyber capabilities that underpin the firm’s global security posture. The role is responsible for aligning India-based delivery to the global cyber strategy, ensuring operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and high-quality services run consistently across time zones. As a strategic partner to the Global CISO, the leader plays a pivotal role in shaping global priorities, strengthening the firm’s defense capabilities, and building an exceptional Cyber talent ecosystem in India.


In this role, you will:

  • Provide vision and set direction for all of technology development and infrastructure or service component for a defined business unit
  • Manage and allocate appropriate people and financial resources to ensure that projects are completed within committed time and budget, and align with strategic objectives
  • Develop and monitor long range information technology plans and policies consistent with the strategic objectives and plans of the business unit
  • Identify capacity planning, efficiency, availability, business enablement and time to market
  • Provide comprehensive consultation to more experienced management regarding business requirements
  • Recommend innovations which anticipate the future directions of both business and information technology
  • Provide technology solutions for the large business unit, including application portfolio standardization and rationalization
  • Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including more experienced managers
  • Lead team to achieve objectives
  • Interface with external agencies, regulatory bodies or industry forums
  • Manage allocation of people and financial resources for Technology Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and guide a culture of talent development to meet business objectives and strategy

A. Strategic Leadership & Partnership

  • Partner closely with the Global CISO to define and deliver the global Cybersecurity strategy with strong execution and leadership from India.
  • Represent India-based Cyber teams in global leadership forums, risk committees, and strategic initiatives.
  • Serve as a senior thought leader, influencing the evolution of global cyber capabilities, engineering strategy, and operating models.

B. Operational Excellence & Delivery

  • Lead end‑to‑end execution of critical Cyber capabilities delivered from India, such as:
    • Cyber Defense & SOC functions
    • Identity & Access Management
    • Network Security engineering and operations
    • Secure-by-Design and application security services
    • Vulnerability management
    • Governance, risk, policy, and oversight functions
    • Tooling, automation, and engineering capabilities (in partnership with the Chief Development Office)
  • Ensure high-quality, resilient operations with strong SLA discipline, control adherence, and continuous service improvement.

C. Risk, Compliance & Control

  • Ensure India-based Cyber teams operate in full alignment with global policies, standards, and regulatory expectations.
  • Proactively manage risk, control gaps, audit issues, regulatory interactions, and remediation plans.
  • Drive a culture of control excellence and transparent risk escalation.

D. People Leadership & Talent Strategy

  • Lead a large, complex Cyber organization (~1,000 FTEs and contractors) across multiple locations and levels.
  • Build a strong leadership bench, succession plans, and high-performance culture rooted in diversity, inclusion, and psychological safety.
  • Champion talent development, certification pathways, workforce upskilling, and long‑term career opportunities for cybersecurity professionals.

E. Global Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary Cyber leader representing India across Technology, Risk, HR, business leaders, and regional site leadership.
  • Ensure India-based teams are deeply integrated into global processes, agile ceremonies, collaboration models, and 24x7 operating rhythms.
  • Influence and partner with global peers across IAM, Cyber Defense, Network Security, Governance, ITAM, Secure-by-Design, and the Chief Development Office.

F. Transformation & Innovation

  • Drive modernization of cyber capabilities delivered from India through automation, AI-driven insights, advanced engineering, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner with global engineering teams to adopt modern architectures, zero trust principles, cloud security, and scalable Cyber tooling.
  • Champion innovation hubs, prototypes, and engineering-led approaches that enhance global Cyber effectiveness.


Required Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Technology Strategic Leadership experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
  • 4+ years of Management experience
  • 8+ years in cybersecurity, information security, technology risk, or related fields; 8+ years leading large global teams.
  • Experience in large, highly regulated industries — financial services strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership of geographically distributed teams across matrixed global environments.
  • Proven experience with large-scale sourcing models, vendor management, and offshore/nearshore delivery.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Security, or equivalent.
  • Preferred Certifications: CISSP, CISM, CISA, CRISC, CCSP (not mandatory).

  • Strong executive presence with the ability to influence C‑suite stakeholders and global partners.
  • Proven success leading large-scale cybersecurity or technology organizations within highly regulated, complex global enterprises.
  • Ability to balance strategic vision with operational rigor and hands-on command during critical events.
  • Deep commitment to risk management, regulatory rigor, and control discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale diverse, inclusive, high-performance teams.
  • Ability to lead through ambiguity, pressure, complex incidents, and multi-jurisdictional demands.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
