This is a role with real scope. You'll work from our National Office between our Payroll and Finance teams, with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Preparing and lodging payroll tax returns across multiple Australian jurisdictions, and staying across state-based legislative changes
  • Reconciling payroll-related general ledger accounts including wages, superannuation, payroll tax, PAYG withholding and employee deductions
  • Processing fortnightly payroll journals into NetSuite, with accurate cost allocation across entities and departments
  • Managing PAYGW payments, reconciling STP lodgements and monitoring ATO portals for ongoing compliance
  • Maintaining WorkCover records, preparing lodgements and supporting premium reconciliations
  • Investigating payroll variances and providing analysis on labour cost movements across business units
  • Preparing audit work papers and responding to internal and external information requests

What You'll Bring

  • Experience in payroll compliance, payroll accounting or a related role
  • Hands-on payroll tax experience, including preparation, reconciliation and lodgement
  • Experience in a large, complex organisation with multi-state, multi-entity or high-volume workforce environments
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, superannuation and PAYG obligations
  • Advanced Excel skills and proficiency across payroll and accounting software
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail
