Job Description:
Crowe’s Microsoft AI powered Business Solutions practice brings together advisory, solution delivery, and managed services across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure, data, automation, Copilot, and agentic AI. We’re doubling the practice over the next two years, and this role will play a key part in shaping how our India engineering team evolves, operates, and delivers as we grow.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role. You'll stay in the work — contributing to complex engagements, sitting in customer conversations, owning architecture decisions — while raising the technical bar for the team around you.
You'll also help grow the team's range across the wider Microsoft stack — Power Platform, Azure, data, automation, Copilot, and agentic AI — combining engineering depth with business process fluency and solution architecture to help Crowe move from traditional system implementation toward AI-enabled business process transformation, and from primarily hourly billing toward fixed-fee, outcome-based, and managed services delivery.
What you will do
- Set engineering and architecture standards for the team by translating ambiguous business problems into technical solution patterns — deciding when an agentic/AI approach is the right call versus when a simpler, deterministic solution serves the client better.
- Stay hands-on: contribute directly to complex client engagements, own architecture decisions, and participate in customer conversations — a player-coach role, not one that manages from a distance.
- Lead technical design and delivery of AI-enabled business process solutions across Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure AI, Dataverse, Fabric, integrations, and related enterprise technologies — including agentic workflows, copilots, automation, data enrichment, decision support, and human-in-the-loop processes.
- Coach and upskill the India engineering team on modern delivery methods, architecture rigor, and critical thinking around ambiguous requirements and complex customer conversations; influence performance ratings and talent decisions.
- Identify where AI, automation, and reusable Crowe IP can standardize delivery, reduce effort, and increase margin — building prototypes, accelerators, and delivery patterns along the way, and growing a pipeline of hourly engagements converted into repeatable fixed-fee or managed-services offerings.
- Establish baseline measures for throughput, cycle time, rework, defects, escalations, and reuse, and drive measurable improvement against them.
- Support pre-sales, solution shaping, estimation, technical workshops, and executive-level discussions where needed.
What success looks like
Within your first year, you'll have:
- Raised the bar technically — the team is operating with clear architecture and engineering standards, and making sound, independent calls on ambiguous requirements and complex customer conversations across the Microsoft stack.
- Put reuse to work — the components, delivery patterns, and AI-enabled workflows you've built are showing up across multiple engagements, not just the one they were built for, and cycle times and rework are visibly down as a result.
- Opened a new commercial path — you've turned multiple hourly engagements into repeatable fixed-fee or managed-services offerings, each with a real playbook behind it, and you're actively growing that pipeline.
- Grown people, not just projects — a handful of high-potential engineers are visibly further along than when you started, and you've made the tough calls where someone wasn't the right fit.
- Earned trust as a technical voice — clients and colleagues come to you for the hard calls: when an AI agent is genuinely the right answer, and when the real fix is better data, a clearer process, or a simpler build.
Required experience
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years leading global engineering teams.
- Track record of mentoring engineers, setting technical standards, and helping teams adopt new delivery practices.
- Proven experience materially improving engineering team throughput, with measurable results achieved without simply adding headcount
- Hands-on experience designing and shipping at least one production agentic or AI-enabled solution — not just familiarity with the tools.
- Ability to design and explain end-to-end technical architectures across applications, data, automation, AI, security, and integration layers.
- Experience delivering in a consulting or professional-services environment, comfortable with client-facing, scoped engagements; exposure to shifting a delivery model from time-and-materials toward fixed-fee or managed services is a strong plus.
- Strong understanding of business processes (e.g., customer service, sales, finance, operations, risk, compliance) and experience working directly with client stakeholders — business users, IT teams, architects, and senior leaders — owning those conversations rather than just supporting them.
- Strong hands-on experience across the Microsoft stack — Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Copilot Studio, Azure (including Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search), Dataverse, Fabric, Logic Apps, Power Automate, APIs, and integration services.
Mindset we need
This is not a role for a traditional developer who waits for requirements to be handed over. We need a forward-deployed problem solver who can sit with a business team, understand how work actually happens, spot the broken handoffs and data gaps, and then engineer a practical solution — while also building that muscle in the team around them. They should be energized by being hands-on and by making others better, not just by being right.
Beyond that, we're looking for someone who:
- Has an automation mindset — the instinct is to eliminate the work, not just scale the number of people doing it.
- Communicates just as well in front of an engineering team as in front of a client's leadership, without needing two different vocabularies to do it.
- Takes ownership without waiting for permission and is willing to move before the path is fully clear.
- Has led through a real business transformation before — a change in how work actually gets done, not just a system migration.
We expect the candidate to uphold Crowe’s values of Care, Trust, Courage, and Stewardship. These values define who we are. We expect all of our people to act ethically and with integrity at all times.
