Description

Under general supervision, launches and retrieves customer vessels upon their request, assists marina customers, performs routine maintenance duties and semi-skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair of dry storage facilities; may perform the duties of a Dock Attendant, and performs related duties as assigned.  

  • Provides customer service to marina users, assists vessels in the staging area and vessels at the floating docks.
  • Performs routine marina maintenance including custodial duties at the Marina South Complex.
  •  Consults with the Marina Operations Manager with scheduling and completion of preventative maintenance at Marina South Complex facilities.
  • Observes standard operating procedures and safety practices and maintains cleanliness of work area and tools.
  • Knowledge of a variety of building trades procedures and techniques including occupational hazards and safety practices related to facility maintenance and repair work.
  • Knowledge of marina policies and procedures including applicable federal, state and local waterway and fuel handling regulations.
  • Knowledge of building maintenance equipment and tools.
  • Knowledge of line handling, knot tying and splicing.
  • Knowledge of CPR and first response emergency measures.
  • Knowledge of customer service practices.
  • Ability to safely operate assigned vessels, marina forklifts, power and hand tools and equipment. 
  • Ability to use various office equipment including personal computers, calculator and Point of Sale system. 
  • Ability to perform heavy manual tasks for extended periods of time in all weather extremes.
  • Ability to follow oral and written instructions. 
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted during the course of work including the general public.
  • Ability to multi-task.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Possession of a High School diploma or equivalent and one (1) year of marina and marine forklift operation.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:  Possession of a valid Florida Driver’s License. CPR/First Aid Certification within six months, Marine Forklift Operation Certification.
